The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

Zeltzin smiled at the same aged boy, tail giving a few more pleasant waves as the strong, yet gentle voice. It sort of made her think of her father’s in a bit, though perhaps not as broken and studdery when it came to someone new and it certainly made her think of her brothers as well. It was good to be around someone she knew she could trust though, Iblis was well liked by her father after all and she was starting to see why if his son was like him. So polite almost over polite really, but she couldn’t help but give a smile as he said the pleasure was his. She wanted to know all about his adventures as a loner. Her father never barred her from exploring or doing what she wanted, not really at least. He worried for her of course but Zeltzin thought that her mother’s experience in raising children, all of which made it to adulthood that she gathered, certainly gave her father a bit more peace than he may have otherwise had. His words had trailed off though and Zeltzin was happy to introduce herself as he had.

When she did the reaction wasn’t exactly expected. He sat up straight, no longer relaxed and at ease it seemed which alarmed her slightly. Her warm gaze no longer found his bright blue eyes as he looked nervously away only to glance back up at her quickly breaking again. She was confused, her whole life she was never treated as a princess, she grew up like all the rest of the pups of Taviora, never treated with preference of differently. Just the way her father always wanted. Sure she knew she was a Princess but no one really called her that, just like how no one, except her mother, really referred to her father as ‘King’. They were titles that didn’t befit the ‘royal’ family of Taviora. If anything she was their servant, someone to help them and care for the members, protectors.

She herself looked away bashfully at her words, realizing then just what he was doing, submitting, no! No she didn’t want that at all! She only told him because, well, he had told her! It was only fair! Now she feared he thought she some haughty princess who expected to be treated differently, like some of the royalty of Diveen did. She couldn’t say all Shiloh didn’t sound bad and Solaris didn’t even really pretend to count himself as royalty either. ”No, no! Just Zeltzin, even Zelly is fine, Lucero.” She said her voice nervous hoping that he would once again relax around her. ”I-I’m not really…” She wasn’t sure what she was going to end that with, a princess? But she was. ”I don’t really want to be called that, my family protects the pack, we don’t really follow traditional roles I guess. Father gets flustered when someone calls him ‘king’ its sort of funny when mom does it.” She was trying to explain it while not sounding proud about it but, she kind of was. Her father earned respect by being friends and kind to his members and as cliché as that sounded it was true. Hopefully with that explained he would just relax.

She was excited though to hear about the good and bad of wandering Moldalion. Hopefully she could better understand the daily dangers of being a loner and perhaps help them and change things. Perhaps it wasn’t any safer being in a pack. As he began to explain the dangers, that have not befallen him thankfully but what seemed the remainder of his family. It hit her then when he mentioned demons and cannibals and the words rose unbidden from her tongue. ”Wolves like… Tobias.” It seemed though he regretted even mentioning them, like she was scared or something. Immediately she puffed her chest out indignantly. Sure it was kind of scary but she wanted to know! This was just what she really needed.

”I’m the one who asked you know. So its okay, I know what wolves like Tobias are capable of, and the demons of Iromar. I just wanted to know how… often things like that happened.” She was curious and she wasn’t going to let ‘her being a lady’ deter him from giving her the answers she wanted. He was a prime wolf to get it from after all! From a family of loners, living as a loner, he was literally perfect to tell her the bad and good of Moladion.
