PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

the unholy ghost

Anath’s mind is cracking. She can feel it getting shaky, especially as the creature comes closer. She knows that scent. It’s haunted her dreams and colored every nightmare she’s had since the creature left her life. That’s why she knows it. Though the sound of her voice and the touch of her hand have become distant, that scent had remained the same through all of it. She couldn’t shake it. The one constant thing she had in her world… and now it was real? The thing that had driven her positively mad over the course of time… and now… tangibility felt strange. It was weird and straight up not okay. And maybe she wasn’t okay but… but…

And there it was. Her name on the lips of the one creature that could (and had) make her whole. Green eyes blink once… twice… three times. The figure that came closer and closer didn’t waver, didn’t dissipate. If she was anything but real, it means Anath had broken entirely. The only way to find out… well... there was one thing that she’d only ever done voluntarily with a very select few. Anath didn’t stop moving forward, didn’t stop approaching until her nose was jammed into Heart’s chest. The champagne tried to keep the trembling from taking her over, but it was hard. It was so damn hard.

Solid flesh. Solid, living flesh beneath her touch. It was something that she could hardly believe, and yet here it was. Real. Reality. What a strange concept. ”I thought you were dead. There’s one shaky breath and then another in her throat. The dun creature’s body quivers all over, the skin stretched tightly over muscle and bone. Everything shakes. Tremors. Anath’s voice drops to just above a hoarse, rattling whisper. “I thought I was dead too.” Moments pass, and she doesn’t think she can breathe anymore. Her lungs are on fire, but not in the way that you’d think. Not in the way that meant she was dying—in the way that meant she was alive again.

”I missed you.” Three words. Those were the only words she needed right now.
