Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

if only the world could know who I really am

Perhaps I have grown fond of the woods. It is a land most different than my own homeland of open sky and roaring seas. I am quite fond of the smell of salt in the air and feeling the sand between my toes. There is a certain comfort in the sound of constant ocean rushing against earth, and yet it is a thing most powerful and terrifying all the same. I am not sure if I will ever have the heart to leave the pack of the sea permanently, but I am also not one to believe things are always so black and white. I do see the allure of other worlds, other places. Experiences differ vastly from one to another, and the setting is one of those things.

I find the woods quite interesting. The foliage catches my interest, and I have found that there are many small creatures like spiders and even creature with what seems to be hundreds of legs on long bodies. They are all small, of course, and yet I wonder what they would be like if they were large. I find my nose moving leaves on the ground, searching for one of these many creatures. I find that my mind has a constant thirst for knowledge, that not even the ocean by my home could quench my undying thirst.

That is what lures me here again. My nose is dirtied from moving leaf and rock, my eyes of blue and violet focused on the ground before me as I move along. It is still rather cool from winter, but it has warmed up considerably. Green has appeared everywhere again, and the tiny creatures of this world are alive and kicking again. I see one dart along, hiding behind another leaf. I walk forth on black legs, about to turn it over when my ears tug and pull in another direction. I must say, I am weak to the sound of others, the faint sound of a groan tickling my senses. I lift my head, the world at my paws forgotten as I look in the direction of the noise.

The foliage is green as I begin to walk towards it. My head lowers as I attempt to look inward, my pace slowing as I come upon it. I see what may be the light color of fur, a creature small, smaller than I as I attempt to peer between the branches without touching them myself. Is it wolf? Perhaps a young pup? I can hardly believe how much I have grown in time, now tall and much like my father. I sniff, tasting the air as I allow my voice to ring, soft and gentle, "Hello, mind if I join you?"
