Maybe we could communicate better, but things were still being figured out and so far, whatever it is we have going on, is going okay. We still had a lot to learn, and we still had to grow up more. There were plenty of trails we would have to face in the future, my brother being one of them. They would test us, and we may bend, but will we break? I suppose we'll have to wait and see if the imprint bond will be enough, or if we need the strength of something more. Who knows, this whole thing could end in fire, and we'd burn together.

I knew Astaroth was a being of pride, and I also knew that my laughter at his silly behavior was not liked. I could hear it in the snort and see it in the way he flicked his ears back and looked away. Oh Astaroth, I guess one thing I was going to have to teach you is how to lighten up a bit. Yes, he had his demon pride, but maybe it would be okay to set it aside and instead laugh and have fun. It wouldn't have to be in front of anyone, just me.

"You are." he says, finally turning back to face me, just in time for my sneak attack. He stooped low and caught me on his shoulders, rising and holding me up on his shoulders with absolutely no problem what so ever. Unfortunately though, now I was stuck, unable to squirm away or out of his hold. I chuckled and looked down at him with a smile. "I guess we're both pretty silly," I say, finally slipping back down so we can eat. Though the second I am no longer touching him, I feel almost like an emptiness, like my skin is ice cold from where his warmth once was.

"You did well. Who is teaching you?"he asks curiously, and I can see the excitement at the meal in his eyes. I nearly rolled my eyes, boys and their love of food. "I taught myself. Beaver isn't too difficult to hunt, and i'm fast so that always helps," I say, almost puffing my chest out in pride at his praise and that I did it all on my own. Silver eyes watched eagerly as he pulled the beaver between his paws and ripped it in half for us to share. He pushed the larger half towards me and I had to hold in a snort of amusement. Did he believe this would help me grow bigger? Fatter and slower yes, but bigger no. I didn't say anything though, he would learn soon enough.

Just as I was about to dig in, his voice cut me off. "Do you... like it here?" he says, eyes narrowing while he began to eat. I was a little surprised by this question, wondering where it came from. I quickly blinked away and gave him a reassuring smile. "I do. Life here is difficult, but I am learning. Iromar is teaching me how to be stronger. its proving everyone who never believed in me because I was too small wrong. Most of all, I have you here," I say. When I realized what I had said, I felt my face flush in embarrassment as I quickly looked away and started eating. He probably wouldn't catch it, but still, if he did, what would he think about him being one of my reasons for liking this place?
