everyone needs a little LAUGHTER and light

Sokka shifted his weight from one stocked foot to the other. Elliot was about the same age as he was, a little older; but this filly was a girl. He’d been to the Crossing, but he didn’t know where this Tinuvel was. She wasn’t unfriendly, but she seemed to have difficulty understanding him. Maybe she was a little deaf? He remembered that sometimes his mother would slow down her speech.

“Oh,” Sokka said. “Where’s Tin-oo-vail? Is id by da Crossin’?” He cocked his head. Stardust snorted. He had slowed down his talking and she wasn’t sure why he’d do that. Did he think she was dumb or something? He was the one who talked strange after all.

“I don’t think it’s near the Crossing…” Stardust mused. “I think this place is about as close to it as the Crossing is. It’s a lot colder though. Where’s the snow?” She looked around. Her eyes spotted a larger stallion coming closer.

“Wha’s snow?” Sokka’s face showed his confusion. He’d never heard of it. That’s when Tarrant approached. Sokka’s ears swiveled around as the stallion spoke. He hadn’t met the new stallion of the Paradise, but Sokka had felt he was alright. After all, with his parent’s current disappearance, Sokka didn’t know what he was going to do. Especially if he got himself kicked out before they came back. His ears wilted a little at the thought. No. They’d be back and then he’d figure out what he was going to do with the impending “year old” date approaching. But Tarrant’s smile was encouraging. “Hah, Mista Tarran’.”

Stardust looked over the other stallion. He was a unique color, she hadn’t seen it before. But he wasn’t scary or demanding. He had a very nice smile which Stardust returned eagerly.

“I’m Stardust, and yeah, I’m exploring,” Stardust remembered that she wasn’t exactly here with permission. But Tarrant didn’t need to know that. “My daddy talked about having been born on Atlantis and I wanted to know what it was like. It’s really hot and sticky.”

“Id’s ach’leh coola den normal,” Sokka said.

Stardust looked at him.

“Is that why you’re so skinny?” She asked. Sokka snorted. “And not fuzzy? You kinda resemble Rattlebone…” That was true enough. Sokka seemed to have the lighter build and the skinny look. He also was shiny.

“Ah dunno a Raddlebone,” Sokka said. “An’ Ah’mma skinneh cause mah ma is skinneh. Why’re ya heaveh? And fuzzeh?”

Kids, right? Still not caring if their questions are rude.
