Danny nodded in agreement at Khasekhemwy's comment; he wished he understood more languages, or knew others who were as capable as the gods. It felt like there was an entire realm of knowledge waiting for him that was just out of his reach, and Danny wanted it all. Well, he amended, maybe not all of it, but the parts about plants and medicines would be rather helpful at least. Danny cocked his head to the side as Khasekhemwy seemed... hesitant. Almost guilty, he guessed, or at least disappointed. Danny's mouth fell open before he could stop it as the god continued mournfully. Lost all languages except English? Because of the magic? Danny's expression was entirely horrified; how could Khase stand it? He was, after all, the god of knowledge...
"Oh, I... I didn't even think about it! I'm sorry sayedy," Danny said, his eyes full of sympathy. How would he feel if he suddenly didn't have access to all his medical knowledge? It would be awful! Danny gnawed his lower lip, hesitating for a second. "Do you think... Have you ever heard of..." Danny cleared his throat awkwardly, his hands tangled together of their own accord. "It's not really a topic for a lesson, but I was curious. I know there's no way to bring back the dead, but, do you know if there's a way to talk to them? I mean, hypothetically."
Danny tried his best to seem casual about it all, but he'd pulled his father's tome on the history of Shaman from his bag and was holding it tightly. Things at home were... difficult, these past few weeks. Danny had met his older brother, Henry, entirely by chance; when he'd revealed this to his sister and brother, well... things had been difficult. He thought maybe, if he could just talk to his dad, things would make more sense. He'd tried to talk to his brother Dylan about such things, but Dylan wasn't exactly focused when it came to the hypothetical. He'd much rather be whacking people with swords, Danny thought. |
