Announcements as of July 28, 2021

I have called you, and you have answered my call --

Do not mistake my silence for weakness, my forest kin. For I am willing to defend you with my fangs and claws, until the days come when am no longer able to. Keep an eye on the borders for Zelda and her sister Midna, because I will welcome them back into the flock on the day of their return.

The flood has left our forest home in a sorry state of disarray. I shall not tolerate this. Summer is here and we must rebuild our dens in time for winter. There is a lot of hard and dirty work ahead of us. But we shall face it together, as family, as a pack. Let's get back to work and then we shall hunt. I hunger for a feast.

From your new Alpha --

Moonshade, the Gravekeeper of Moladion

It’s flying fast, and it’s flying far. Swift, pure white paws carry the sleek frame across the land, her mind focused so intently on the avian beast. For weeks it had been haunting her, interrupting her journeying and finally she had given in to the urge to break its wings. The wolf was not a usually violent creature, but the Raven was relentless in his endeavors. If it had only been a physical thing, she would not have cared, truly. The physical world meant little, while the spiritual and extra-terrestrial world was everything. And that abominable Raven had not only been a physical presence- he had been with her in both spiritual and otherwise. That and that alone was why the wolf followed with such urgency, hardly caring where it was the black creature took her, so long as she eventually got her jaws on him. Bright eyes of violet and sunbursts of gold around the pupil focus on the sky above, though soon there are many trees that hinder her sight, bringing a frown to her most lovely features. If she lost him, he would surely find her again; less this was his idea all along. Ravens were crafty fellows, and she would not put it past him to have an ultimate forever in mind.

But, the deeper the wolf went into the forest, the pines overhead thickening and the trunks adding in numbers, the more aware she became of a particular scent. It was one she knew well, though had not come across in years. In fact- any of the scents that went along with this one, she had not picked up in the same time. Years had passed since leaving her birth land and her family without looking back. Ambitious angel blood coursed hot through her veins, and in order to achieve what she had, a departure had to be taken. But now, it seemed, was her time to return, and all thanks to the Raven. Sudden movement in the distance caught her bright gaze, and immediately she is heading for them. Starfall is but a year older than her, but she remembers him, even if their Father and him did not get on very well. She wonders though, if he will remember her and her face, for it has been a long while since knowing it. At five years old, she is indeed fully grown, and though she does not stand quite as tall as her brothers and youngest sister, she is still above most, boasting the coat of angels with speckled angel marks atop her forehead, crowne of her skull, and down along her back to taper at her shoulder blades. The shadow of the night is not entirely lost though, as her muzzle is enveloped in a charcoal tear drop, flowing down along her lower jaw to her throat and chest, all the way down until the tip of her tail.

Her brother is all charcoals, onyx and crimson, few star dustings upon his very tail. The closer she comes, the more she sees, and the more excitement she also feels building. In the back of her mind she knows she is within a packland, one she did not know or was familiar with, but this was her brother, part of family, and he was just within reach. Surprisingly, there is but another Raven haunting above him, though when she glances up to her own Raven, he is all but disappeared. Narrowing her bright gaze, it is cold as it hones in on the Raven above her brother. This would be the end of it, once and for all. The next few moments is, luckily, when he decides to attempt to strike again, but Iophiel is there before him. Slender jaws snap shut firmly mid wing, jaw jerking down to somersault the avian out of the sky and toward the ground. But she does not release, oh no. She is not a cruel creature, but her ivory and crimson speckled skull is shaking vigorously to end the life in her jaws. Though he is an intensely spiritual being, the wolf of white has no qualms killing him. He has pestered her for far too long, and she would not allow him to plague her brother as well. Once she is satisfied with the limp fourm in her muzzle, only then would she part them to let him fall to the earth, where at once she set to digging him a grave, burying him to her satisfaction as well, before bright eyes turning to the dark fourm of her brother.

Silence momentarily hangs in the air between them, before she speaks, her voice strong and firm, with a curious lilt to it, and even a vague accent that’s been collected from many lands and many worlds. “D’yoa remember me, mai dear pater?” Latina has never left her mind nor being, and it would always be a part of her just as the wolf before her would, just as the wolves in Diveen were and the wolves she had known in her journeys. The wolf did hope that Starfall remembered her, though she had no qualm with reminding him of who she was. It shouldn’t be too difficult, not with her stark white base coat and her crimson markings and charcoal underlining. Attempting to make eye contact with him, bright violet flecked with gold seek nebulas of pink and yellow, a curious sight and one most welcome. She waits then, standing before him, the dead Raven at her paws almost entirely forgotten, though always there. Any animal to die within her jaws were ones that were always with her, always in the spiritual world did she know them and see with, speak with them and learn. She wondered if her eldest brother was a world walker, realm walker, or maybe even dream walker. Perhaps she would ask and find out, though first things first was if there needed to be reintroductions or not. Expectant eyes remained on the opposite starbursts, her features at ease in their neutrality.

THE FOREST RANKS

THE GRAVEKEEPER

The Alpha Male of Taviora. He will accept all challenges and block any steals. He has taken an oath to protect all within the forest, alive and dead.

THE KEEPER OF SECRETS

This will be Moonshade's chosen co-alpha. They will also be able to accept challanges and steals in order to defend Taviora.

THE KEEPER OF TRUTHS

This rank will belong to the chosen heir of Taviora. This wolf will probably share Moonshade's blood. This rank can be challenged for if you believe that you are a better candidate for the job.

THE FOREST COUNCIL

Although the Alpha's have the final say in all matters, Taviora is still a pack, we are still a community. These wolves are the most senior members of our ranks. Their role is to guide, serve and protect. All of them have earned their place here and they should be respected at all times. Every position on the council can be challanged for by a subordinate pack member. However the council has the right to block a pack member from gaining the position if they have concluded that the individual has placed their own selfish desires before the best interest of the pack as a whole.

THE TUSKS

The packs lead fighter. One of the strongest and bravest in our ranks. They will answer the call to protect the forest if either of the Alpha's are absent.

THE JAWS

The packs head of defence. They are our chief hunter and guardian to all within the forest borders. They know every inch of Taviora and every wolf within.

THE HORNS

The packs most senior teacher. They are responsible for teaching and guiding all of our young and new members so that they will reach their full potential.

THE EYES

The packs trusted informant. This wolf spends a lot of their time outside the forest borders, keeping their eyes, ears and nose peeled for news or potential trouble. Due to the secretive and dangerous nature of this rank, only a wolf that the pack can trust with their lives will obtain this responsibility.

THE DARKDWELLER

This is Taviora’s Head Healer. This wolf is responsible for treating the pack's wounds, injuries and illnesses. They are also expected to be one of the first on scene when a mother goes into labour. Along with their counterpart, The Soothsayer, they will train future healers for the service of our pack and our allies.

THE SOOTHSAYER

This is Taviora’s Head Counselor. Their knowledge of healing and herbal remedies are equal to that of their counterpart, The Darkdweller. This wolf specializes in helping us conquer the unseen demons in our heads and our hearts. They are also expected to help bring all children of the forest safely into this world.

NIGHTWATCHERS

Our trusted packmates that guard the borders while the rest of us sleep safely in our dens. If something is amiss within our lands, they should be the first to intercept any threat and call for back up when needed. Some might not call themselves soldiers, but they will spill blood if push comes to shove.

DAWNSTRIDERS

The most diligent and selfless of our pack. They are up at first light and leave our inner sanctum every few days in search of prey. They hunt far and wide in order to make sure none of us go hungry. While not out hunting, they are free to relax or assist the Nightwatchers, Daylightres or Dawnstriders with their tasks.

DAYLIGHTERS

This group will make up the bulk of our pack, they are our beloved family. They are generalists and commoners who are charged with looking after the most central and sacred parts of our home. Along with The Horns, they are expected to watch out for our children. We are happy to keep all within our ranks that love and respect the forest of Taviora.

DUSKWALKERS

Rumoured to be the most free spirited and independent members of our pack, they guard when no other eyes are available. They wander down all the winding dirt paths and have been known to explore into the freelands. They are envoys and ambassadors who assist The Eyes with their duty of keeping us all safe.

ANCIENT PINES

These wolves are older and have retired from active service. We thank them for all that they have done for our pack, however long or short their tenor was. They shall live out the rest of their years with the best food, shelter and company we can offer them.

THE BRIAR PATCH

This is the name for Taviora’s nursing mothers and their litters of puppies. Once they are born, at least one parent is expected to temporarily step down from their role in order to raise their pups for the first 6 months of their lives. An exemption can be made if another mother is willing to look after the young while the parents resume their service to the pack.

THE SAPLINGS

Too big for the briar patch but not yet old enough to be called a daylighter. These are all puppies between the age of 1 and 3. Pups can start their training from 2 and above if The Horns has found a suitable Mentor for them.

THE WELCOMED

These wolves are welcome within our borders anytime of the day or night. Blocking their access will be met with disapproval and possible punishment.

THE BANISHED

They are enemies of our pack and their presence will not be tolerated within or near our home. Those caught in contact with a wolf on this list will likely share the same fate.

THE SACRED TOMBS

Our brothers and sisters that have sadly left us for their next adventures. We give thanks for their lives and we send them on with all our love, hopes and dreams. Moonshade will accept the bones of any wolf that has ever called Taviora their home and will find them a special place within our hallowed grounds. Every burial mound is individual and sacred. Tampering or messing with one will not be tolerated. A crime against the dead will be treated as though it has been committed against a living pack member.

Remember, we are always watching from the shadows ...
