 And it's consequences keep you up at night. The buckskin stallion stood along the shore of his home. His wounds had healed, pink angry flesh now scabbed over. But his ticks still remained. It had been weeks since he'd seen Dragon, Marlena or Compass, though he hadn't spent much time in the Ridge as of late. The stallion allowed the waves to lap at his hooves, staining his dark colored legs and licking them sometimes up to his knees before retreating back into the depths from which they came. Time was passing, of course. Winter was here and even on Atlantis he could occasionally feel the season's biting chill. His coat was thick and patchy. But it felt as if his life was on pause. The Ridge was seemingly vacant. His friends - Compass, Pilar, Dragon - might have moved on. Or maybe they thought Kasabian abandoned them. Either situation was totally plausible, given his absence as of late. Even when he was home, he was holed off from the more common areas, keeping to the high peaks of his Ridge, aimlessly wandering the edges of his jungle and shoreline. Maybe he wasn't cut out for this. Maybe his initial instinct -- his ever-pressing desire to flee -- was what he should have been listening to all along. He hadn't noticed the stallion emerge from the ocean's depths several feet away down the shoreline. But his mumblings carried to him in the brisk breeze. A golden lobe flicked forward and back upon registering the disturbance. With some effort the stallion cocked his head to one side, emerald eyes catching sight of the stallion lingering in the distance. With a heavy sigh, he reluctantly urged himself forward, carrying over to greet the stranger at a lopsided two-beat trot. "Hey." Was all Kasabian managed to muster as he approached.
