aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

wolf

The weather was changing again and the form within the den shivered as she stood up, the warmth she had been enveloped in leaving her form when she stood up. The air was growing colder as the leaves began to change their colors. The femme’s black fur was growing thicker to compensate for the cooler weather, but her winter coat was not yet in and she was still adjusting to the cooler air. But it was not the cooler air that had woken her from her slumber, it was her alpha’s call. Even though the femme had been sleeping her audettes had immediately alerted her to the brute’s call. She stood up slowly and walked from her den, stretching as she exited her dark and cozy den. She yawned and rose, eyes blinking away the sleep as they adjusted to the sunlight. Chenzii took a moment to adjust before heading in the direction that Kalgalath had called from. It sounded different than the calls he made for meetings so she knew there was no rush for her to get there. It just sounded like he wanted a friend.

Chenzii wondered how her alpha was doing after the drama that had happened with Zig. She knew it was a different situation but at this point he had lost two females in his life, just as the black femme had lost the mate she had had, twice. She could not imagine what it would feel like to have to make someone she loved leave, and to challenge one she loved as Kal had been forced to do. But, just like always, the silver brute had done what was done for the pack and had dismissed the female that hadn’t been present in the pack for many months. Anger began to boil inside Chenzii when she thought of what Zig had put Kal through, what she had forced the male to do and the pain he must now be feeling. She did not want her friend to be feeling the hurt that she knew he would be feeling, did not want him to hurt in anyway. A growl escaped her throat before she realized that she was letting her anger get to her. She did not want to head over to Kalgalath feeling how she did and she knew she needed to calm down. She picked up her speed, loping into a trot from her much slower walk. She panted slightly as the wind blew through her, feeling her anger dissipate as her muscles warmed up.

The femme had not seen any of her packmates in a long time, as if everyone was busy or everyone decided they wanted to be left alone at the same time. It was odd how all the lupines her pack seemed to be as solitary as she had been. The pack she had joined had been much more active and lively, but she understood that life happened, just as it had happened with her. For many weeks she did not want to be with anyone, not even Kalgalath or Magic, her two best friends in the pack. Chenzii understood how it felt to need to be alone and she would respect anyone that felt the same way. But now that Kal was ready to be with his pack again Chenzii would be by his side in an instant.

As the black femme neared the place that Kal had called from Magic’s stench reached her nares as well as her alpha’s and a smile appeared on her kissers as she approached. She heard Magic speak as she became visible through the trees, approaching her friend, “Kal. I’m glad I finally have a breath of fresh air.” Chenzii walked over to Magic, her plume wagging slightly as she brushed against her friend’s black pelt in greeting. ”Magic, I hope you are well. I have missed you.” She spoke to her friend with honesty as the two had not spoken in a long time, the last time being when Chenzii had been depressed after Chiron had left. But she was doing much better now. She looked like her normal strong, healthy self and was no longer feeling the achy emptiness she had been feeling for so long. And then she approached the silver titan, concern reaching her yellow orbs. ”Hello Kal,” she spoke softly to her alpha as she also rubbed against him as well, leaning into him slightly as she did so to let him know that she was here to support him. ”I’m so sorry about everything that has happened. How are you doing?” She knew that Kal was also close to Magic, just as Chenzii was, and if he wanted to talk about what had happened he would be able to do so in front of both of the two femmes that were present.

“Testing my Reply”
"We were never meant to last," She whispers.
