Danny hung his head as Dylan grunted out a response, shame and guilt burning in his belly just as it had when he'd upset Renn. He didn't mean to hurt Dylan, but he knew he had. He hoped the offer would help to soothe Dylan's pride a bit, but he knew it wouldn't take away the pain. It wasn't of the same magnitude as when he'd stopped speaking after their father's death - or Danny, at least, didn't see it that way - but it was close. Danny himself often felt upset because of the obvious secrets the older siblings kept from him and Dylan, and now he was guilty of the same thing. Danny swallowed hard and nodded, taking a long second before he could talk.

"You're right," he said quietly, his head still ducked and his eyes focused on the hands he'd tangled together. "I'm sorry. Really, Dylan, I'm sorry," Danny looked up, meeting his brother's eyes in the hopes Dylan would see how much he really did mean it. "Everything I can think of to tell you, to explain, just sounds like a dumb excuse. But I really am sorry, and I really will try hard to be better about it. Especially with this kind of stuff, because you're right. It's our family."

Though his mouth was still dry - Danny never did well with conflict, especially when that conflict was with his twin - Danny nibbled on a piece of cake. Though he wished he could believe the offer meant things were going to be better, he knew better. And was reminded of this when Dylan exploded over Danny's next comment. Danny winced, partly at the tone in his brother's voice and partly because he was right.

"I... didn't," Danny said, shame bringing a wash of red over his features. "It's wrong, I know, I just didn't know how to bring it up, or what to say. But you're right. The older guys keep everything from us, and I shouldn't have kept it from you when I found out. I mean... I didn't really find out, like, about why Henry isn't here with us, but... You know what I mean." He swallowed hard, ducked his head again. He was now mutilating the hem of his poor shirt, tangling it up in his fists. His voice was far quieter, and filled with guilt, when he spoke again. "I won't do it again."

It seemed a good a time as any to reveal his next plan. Dylan wanted to know what he was thinking, what he was going to do, and especially when those things had to do with the family. He could tell Dylan was still pretty pissed - his twin's face was an open book for Danny - but at least he'd calmed down enough to think it over.

"I think we have to," Danny said, sounding firm for the first time since the conversation had started. "For Renn, and for us. He's our brother." Danny hesitated at the question of where, biting his lower lip. "I was thinking the Cove? I can show you where I saw him last time, and maybe we can go from there? His familiar's a cheetah, Du- I mean, Fitzroy. So maybe the boys can help?"

Danny glanced over in time to see Lunarian smack Sol about the nose with his tail. He smiled a little but quickly stopped, trying to remember to stay serious.

"Bugs are delici-!" Sol started, clearly ready to hunt down a bug and feed it to Lu if he had to. But, catching Danny's expression, he stopped and sidled nearer (swamping the rest of them in his stink-bug stench in the process). "We'll help. Won't we, Lu?"
