News 08.08.2021
Change was long overdue in Spirane. Now that I have learned who is still an active presence within the pack, the ranks have been updated. As I once took time away from the pack, so too now shall Kalseru. Know that she is still second in command of the pack, as is reflected in her rank. Once you are familiar with the new ranking system, if you would like to change positions or move up in the ranks you need only ask. Let this be a time of new life in Spirane, and a promise of great things to come!

When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives.

fourteen - no heart - Heyel's soul - Spider of Spirane
sister of warlow, dam of sven *adopted*

this is her in blackouts

Natu notes the way that he avoids her suggestion of a healer. It wasn't as if she really expected him to agree with it anyways. Fenrir is quite obviously a self-reliant wolf. One who has spent much time in the company of his adopted brothers and less time as an actual pack wolf. They all had about them a ruggedness that comes from being apart, being on their own, and that was fine. She wouldn't press him about it just as she had not been pressed into seeing a healer herself. In some fashion they are the same. For so long she had kept the secret of her blackouts from all except for Ailith - for her friend had seen what was going on with keen eyes. Sven had been a treasured secret amongst the mountains. Well, not so really treasured as a guilty one. It had turned out alright though with Sven's acceptance of her and forgiveness and Daenery's understanding of the situation. It did not escape her mind though the consequences of how bad it could have been.

An amused sort of smile curls on her lips as Fenrir attempts to convey his thoughts on Ifrit in a rather round-a-about and confusing manner. Natu is not dense so she catches on fairly quickly to Fenrir's understanding though she enjoys letting him play out his words. He does not wish to insult her but there is an honesty about Fenrir that is refreshing. It would be a lie to say she did not enjoy this conversation between them, the barely veiled interest that both of them felt.

Finally he gives up, looking down as an abashed pup might do, and Natu laughs, a silvery sort of laugh that bespeaks of moonlight and sighs. "I grasp your meaning Fenrir. I am pleased to find that you and Ifrit both think of me as worthy and strong. You may rest easy knowing that I have not twisted your words." Her icy blue eyes seem to dance in merriment and she wants to step forward, to press her maw against his in a playful sort of manner, but she restrains from such movement. There would be time enough for that once they have both ascertained where this speech is heading, where this connection is growing.

It is with a tension and a relief that she finds Fenrir next to her. There is a closeness between them that is interrupted by the distance they keep physically from each other. In this moment she is reminded of her first love, of the way they could wrap their bodies around each other in the strongest of embraces and sink into the scent of the other. A sharp pain stabs across her chest for she misses such a feeling. She has not nor will she ever forget her love before or her children. Life did not wait, however, and she had waited long enough.

She does not press him on Talieson once they lay down side by side beneath the vast space of stars. While she waits for his answer, her eyes cast upwards to see the twinkling beauty above, she feels the weight of her words. She feels connected with him. As though she knows of the tension that he feels in uttering such words, and she is thrilled at his honest, open answer, for Fenrir does not try to hide behind false comments. So, she gathers, he did not really know his son. Did not raise him.

Letting her slender maw come down from it's raised position, she turns her attention back to him as he begins to tell the tale of his life. An answering smile flashes across her face to his own weak one. This story is costing him to be sure. Yet in the end will he gain something more than the pain of remembrance?

"This life is never an easy one," she answers simply. Her voice does not judge him; her mind processes such information with a sadness and also a gladness to know. "Love is something to be treasured yet it is a slippery as water. One minute it is here and then it is gone." A whisper of a sigh as she places her maw atop her paws. "I once had a mate, many years ago. I loved him and together we created two of our own. But that was not the fate to be left to me. Our son died in a battle, our daughter of a sickness, and he followed soon after. I sometimes wonder if it was not of heartbreak but then I feel bitter for he left me alone." She blinks now before her eyes turn to him - let him know now the depth of her loneliness. Let him know, in some quiet way, that should they pledge to each other she could not stand to be left alone in this world.

"Sven is my son now. I have tried to do right by him to atone for my sins, for he was not mine by birth, not my right to raise him, but things happened and here he is." And with that she goes quiet. Such a story needs time between tellings before it can be remastered once more, and perhaps Fenrir would change the course of the conversation to something lighter, but that was up to him in this moment.
