Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

And every demon wants his pound of flesh

The feeling of her sharpened teeth tearing into the sinewy flesh of the raccoon was satisfying on multiple levels. It would satiate her hunger which before had been a yawning distraction but it had also provided her with a thorough distraction for her afternoon. It was that it tasted specifically better than the mice had, but it was decidedly more enjoyable. She was preoccupied with her snack, but not enough so that his approach went undetected, she would never allow herself to tune out the rest of the world that entirely.

Her ears absentmindedly caught his approach first, the sounds of pads falling near-silently on the damp floor of the forest causing them to twitch instinctively. His scent followed, musky as every canines but tipped with the metallic tang of rocks and a group of other wolves. Either he came from the same crags they denned in for the night or there was a pack who made home in a similar environment not far from here. Her gaze shifted to watch him emerge into the small clearing as she guessed the latter was true. You could always tell a pack wolf.

For a moment she allowed her two-toned eyes to rake over him taking in as much information as possible. He was not entirely unlike her brother, though he missed the striking facial marking which connected the two the build and color were still there as well as the eye color that was singular in Hollowpoint. Perhaps it is the similarity that keeps her from simply running away or flat out attacking him. Regardless the hair on the back of her neck rises, hackles extended though not fully still enough to give physical form to her prickly disposition. She stood low over her meal, lips curled back to just reveal the tips of yellowed teeth as he finished his advance. All a warning, but proof she was not beyond acting on such inclinations.

She blinked as his statement, piecing together that somehow he must have stumbled across the mice she had abandoned and tracked her here. It was odd that he should be so intent to track down whoever’s lunch he had no doubt taken for himself instead of simply wandering off to continue his day. Yet there he stood interrupting hers. “They weren’t for me,” she said simply as if that explained everything, her voice rough and slightly deeper than most of the ‘fairer’ sex more alto that anything else. Still there had been a promise lingering in the last few tones of his words, the idea that there was something grander out there should they choose to chase it down.

It was rare that she found the opportunity to go after game any larger than a fawn, her brother wasn’t the most avid of hunters and they never stuck around anywhere to group up with a larger pack. The idea of something more challenging caused her pink tongue to flick out and across her slightly blood stained muzzle. “What did you have in mind?” she asked, her posture relaxing only slightly though her muscles remained tensed ready for anything. She was still not fully sure she trusted this stranger who had yet to even offer her a name, but occasionally the curiosity that seemed to belong solely to her brother wormed its way in to her world.
