Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

Trying to calm herself, Gaia breathed slowly through the throbbing pain in her legs. She didn't get out much and though her mountain home had its steep hills she tended to avoid such areas. Her legs could be strong if she worked on them more but how could she know that? Her parents weren't around to tell her this and she was no healer. As far as she knew, her legs would always be this way and she would always be useless. Perhaps it would be better if these wolves did just finish her off. Save her the horror of being cast of our Spirane and living like a loner again... Of course she was being dramatic and had she taken a moment to look at the strangers Gaia would notice that they were not threatening her at all. In fact, one had come close to her and pressed his nose into her russet fur.

And her world felt complete.

The young girl was familiar with the feeling of imprinting but she had never felt anything like this. It was not nearly as powerful for her as it was for Zaphkiel, but the sudden jump in her heart and the overwhelming sensation of warmth and protection made her shaking body calm. Her bi-colored eyes fluttered open and looked into the eyes of her new imprint. It was like gazing into eternity and had she not been lying down already she would have collapsed at the weight of it all. He was a handsome wolf, there was no doubt... but there was something else about him. Something mysterious. The injured wolfess hadn’t even noticed the other girl there until the male asked for her help. The sound of his voice made her shiver.

Before Gaia could object, the other female was off like a rocket in search of herbs. Before she had left she mentioned that she was a healer from Taviora and this had made the young girl feel a bit more safe. Though she was not a pack member, she had been born in the forest pack when her parents were loners seeking a safe place. It was like a home to her and to this day she considered herself to be a friend. Her father was now a king and also allied with Taviora. Perhaps she could offer some kind words to Coza about his healer.

Her attention was brought back to the male and she found herself being unable to say much of anything. She could only smile shyly and wag her tail as the pain in her legs was almost all but forgotten. There was no awkward feeling. Just a kind of happiness she hadn’t felt in a long time. As the other girl came back, Gaia tore her eyes away from the heavens that were his eyes and smiled. "Thank you for your help. Oh, I am Gaia of Spirane and daughter of Iblis and Rhea. Who are you?" she asked, speaking formally as her parents had always taught her to. She munched on the bitter plant, wincing slightly as the taste burned her senses, and listened to her newfound companions as they introduced themselves.
