As he moved into the clearing, a single ear flicked back to catch the movements of Shiloh as she rested at the periphery of the training field. Sleekwing did not intrude so far as to look back upon the exchange between the two young wolves, instead continuing forward to the center of the clearing. He turned to face the boy when he’d joined him there, and began circling him in a wide berth as he spoke. For quite some time now Sleekwing had been heralded as the captain of the guard in Spirane, the mountain’s greatest warrior. But in recent months the opportunity to prove himself as worthy of such repute had finally presented itself. He would not disappoint Daenerys by sending this boy home thinking this session a waste of his time, nor would he fail himself by coming up short in this.

With each circle he moved in closer to Amoxtli, his gaze never leaving him. The apprehension was still there, almost palpable in the air. Despite that, the boy had clearly had at least a few lessons leading up to this, for he adjusted his stance quite well and pivoted as Sleekwing circled him, never leaving his back exposed. The heather painted brute kept up his circling for a little while longer, slowly getting closer and closer to Amoxtli and letting him adjust to the routine of rotating to the left. Then, just as the boy shifted his wait to pivot once more, Sleekwing put on a burst of speed in his first attack.

He thrust himself forward, lunging for Amoxtli’s right side, which would be exposed if he had not been able to correct from his movement to the left. Sleekwing made to crash his chest just behind the point of his student’s shoulder, into his side and hoping to thrust him off balance. If he made his mark he would reach up and over and bite the boy’s withers, just hard enough to let him know he was there, before releasing pushing himself against Amoxtli. He would bulldog forward, staying close but never ceasing his movement, keen to see how he would react to being in such close proximity, the pressure relentless.
