Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

If Heaven and Hell decide
that they both are satisfied.
Illuminate the "No's" on their vacancy signs.
The days grew colder and colder as winter's frigged touch loomed, waiting for its reign of the land. The cold was my domain, the ice and the snow my own little paradise. The gentle touch of fall's frost was nothing compared to the endless nights and blinding blizzards I had grown up in. Although Moladion's winters would never reach the intensity of those in the tundra, it was pleasant. The winters here, while harsh to some, were almost relaxing to me. Because on the tundra, you never got to sit back and watch the snow drift down, you were too busy trying to survive. On the tundra, the snow and ice would swallow you up and you'd never be seen again.

It had been a few days since I had been given my tasks to achieving the rank of Mercenary. I was to spar with another from Spirane and then find one worthy to join the ranks of the mountain pack. It was...coming along, but I had no idea where to even begin looking. Well, on the bright side of all this, it was distracting me from the sadness inside me, the uselessness and loneliness that was slowly eating me away. I'd come to the conclusion that no one would ever love me, i'd never had a mate nor pups of my own, and I didn't have any use. So I knew i'd have to make myself somewhat useful, until I slowly withered away and died alone.

I slipped from the borders of Spirane, starting my way into the free lands to search for someone, anyone to try and recruit. I had no destination in mind really, I just kept walking and walking, searching for someone, anyone to approach. I had such a silent, graceful gait as I moved, my icy gaze sweeping over the free lands. My ears suddenly flicked at the sound of thundering paws running nearby and the scent of both another and rabbits.

I slipped silently through the trees towards the sound in time to see a dark female sprint by in pursuit of a rabbit. I crouched down out of sight and watched in curiosity. She was quick on her feet and the rabbit never stood a chance as she grabbed its neck. Unfortunately, the catch also sent her tumbling, but I stayed and watched as she laid there for a moment and then rose, shaking off her fur and walking to the river to drink. She was a proficient hunter, and from here I could scent not a single pack upon her fur. Maybe she's looking for a home? Maybe she'd come to Spirane with me?

I slowly rose from my hiding spot so as to not startle her. I walked over, making sure she was aware of my presence, because the last thing I wanted was for her to be scared or worse, run. My demeanor was completely friendly, my tail wagging and a small smile upon my face. I walked towards her, but kept a little space between us so as to not make her uncomfortable. I sat down in front of the river by her and turned to give her a smile. "The other wolf is a good hunter," I say, talking about her, I only hope my strange way of talking doesn't confuse her; yet another thing wrong with me. "She is called Ailith, what is her name?" I asked, hoping she'd at least talk to me, just be my friend.

when your soul embarks
then i'll follow you into the dark.
