The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

A heart of steel starts to grow
Mommy wasn't around too much, and neither was sister. I had seen brother around, but even he was gone often. I didn't know where they were all the time, in fact I rarely saw them through out the day. But that was okay! It gave me a lot of time for adventures and exploring. I spent a lot of time at the beach, playing in the sand and water and even played with some birds and crabs! It was so much fun! But today, today I wanted to go on an adventure and see new things, like I did when I went to that strange place and made friends with that white female.

I bounded from the border of the ocean pack, silence all around me as I ran with a happy grin on my face. The weather was starting to get colder but it didn't even faze me with my thick fluffy pelt that I got from my parents. I've never met my dad though, so I don't know I look like him. I've seen what I thought was him from a distance, but if mommy was around she took me away quickly. But I wanted to meet him, I wanted to meet my dad, maybe he could show me whats wrong with me, help me fix myself. Mommy wasn't helping, and neither were my siblings, so maybe, just maybe he could.

As I ran, a wolf suddenly walked out in front of me, making me yelp and jump in surprise. My tail tucked and I cowered, but he smiled and gave me a tail wag which made me feel more comfortable. I looked at him, and I couldn't help but notice how much he looked like me when I looked at myself in the water. His eyes were the same as mine, only without the blue like my mom's. I smiled and my tail wagged as I realized this was dad! I bounded up to him as he said something to me I didn't hear at all. He picked me up and started carrying me, where I had no idea.

My eyes were wide as I looked all around at the places we past, but we just kept going until we came to these really big rocks with holes in them and it was dark inside! He walked in, and placed me down on a cold floor that made me jump in surprise. When I turned around in fear, he pushed me farther in and then turned in left, turning once on his way out and then disappearing. I sat there, tail tucked and terrified, wondering when he was going to come back. He had to come back.

Time passed and eventually so did my fear, which turned into curiosity while I waited for my dad to return, though he never was but I didn't know that. My silver and blue eyes started to look around, looking at all the cool pointy stones and shadows. This place was so cool! I'd never been anywhere like this before. I was so mesmerized by everything, so mesmerized that I didn't notice the male coming up behind me.

There was no way I could hear him approach or the words he said. It took me a moment before I scented him, making me spin around in surprise long after he had spoken or approached. I looked up at the black male, shivering, tail tucked, and ears flat. He was much bigger than tiny little me, but not nearly as big as my dad. I don't know if I trust him, but he's smiling, so that has to make him okay, right? Mom smiled. Sister and brother smiled. My friend smiled. Even my dad smiled.

I slowly started to relax, looking up at him curiously as I wondered who he was. Maybe we could be friends? Little did I know what he had planned, that he knew my father and an aunt I didn't even know I had. That he would scent my father on me, see the resemblance and know because he was super smart. I moved towards him slowly, looking up and tilting my head. Well, this adventure had certainly been interesting.
