Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

It is disheartening to think of the way Ailith has been feeling as of late. Natu had been so wrapped up in the goings on of her own life that she had failed her sister friend. After the way Ailith had saved her own life only a few short years ago Natu should have known all about Ailith. Been there for her friend in the way the she-wolf had been there for her. In this quiet moment shared between them Natu feels a familiar bitterness at herself. She recognizes in herself her capacity for selfishness, a constant failure of hers, and the way she always drew herself into her own life with such blindness to everything else. How many more in her life would she fail? Her own children had died and so had her mate, slipping away in his own grief, and she had felt fury at him for that. Fury for him leaving her alone to deal with her own. Yet she had accepted it finally but here she was dredging up her old anger at herself.

It was useless to digress. She was here now with Ailith and as she looked upon the tear stained fur of her friends face she knew that she would do whatever she could to help Ailith. From now on the female would be enfolded into Natu's embrace often. Lured into Natu's life with friendly words so that Natu could keep a constant eye on her while she puzzled through what to do for Ailith. She needed a heart, just the same as Natu had found her own heart in Fenrir.

Natu smiles at Ailith's assessment of her and Eric. It is nice to know that the male is there for Ailith. That he would come seek her out in her time of need despite his own heart being elsewhere. Commendable, that. Whatever secrets he hid were his own. Natu would not pry despite her tendency towards stealth and secrets. It would only hurt Ailith to think her friend distrusted her soul.

The way Ailith reacts to her question, not meant to hurt of course, makes Natu frown and a soft whine escape her maw. She does not wish to cause her friend any more stress. Nor does she wish it to seem that she does not want to be with Ailith or even Eric. So when Ailith puts one paw on each of them Natu leans forward and licks Ailith's cheek with a gentle smile. "Of course, sister, we will," she answers calmly, casting her eyes to Eric as if to say that he too must say since she answered for him.

Now that her shrewd gaze is on him maybe it is time to learn a little bit. "Tell me about yourself Eric. How did you two meet?" She knew it was at the time of her own meeting with Heyel but she did not know quite how the story went. "Ailith here, she saved my life a few years back. I owe her everything."
