Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

A thick, heavy fog hung in the air as the wolf made her way through the swamp, her dark brown paws testing each step before she took it. Her silvery-purple eyes were focused carefully in front of her, determined to make it through the bog one way or another. Honestly, it wasn't that bad here, but Sekhmet wasn't keen on getting the thick black muck on her fur. It would probably take forever to wash the stink off. After leaving her pack, things had been... lonely, for the most part. Though Sekh liked to tell herself that friends were the last thing she needed, she secretly desired companionship after several months of being alone.

So far, Sekhmet hadn't yet found a place to settle. Below the thick stench of swamp, she could make out the scent of many wolves, which only grew stronger as she advanced further. It seemed that unlike most of the areas she had passed through, these lands were populated. Well, not the swamp. Just this area in general. In fact, it seemed that the swamp was mostly deserted except for the wildlife and the fog. Not that she minded, after all she wasn't in the swamp looking for conversation. The nice forest had slowly gotten wetter and lower, and now she was here, trying to find her way to someplace that was a bit less treacherous.

Sunlight hardly trickled down through the dense cypress canopy; it was noon, but seemed like nighttime. The brown wolf was unsure if she would ever find her way out of this place. There wasn't likely food or shelter here, the two things that were probably most important to the female, especially as she had been living on her own for a while. Perhaps she would find somewhere to settle around here, the scent of wolves was promising, though she was wary of packs due to the fact that she was here to get away from pack life. Sekhmet wasn't really sure where things would lead now that she had left the only home she had ever known- things were a bit scary, but she was determined. It would be hard to start a brand new life but it would be worth it in the end.

Sekhmet placed her front paws on an oaken log that would act as a bridge to cross an area of deep, murky water. She frowned slightly, her eyes narrowing slightly as the log creaked under her weight. There was no other way around though, so she was just going to have to risk it. The log did not agree with her trying to use it as a bridge, and with a loud creak and a snap, it broke and plunged her into the dark water.

She let out a yelp of surprise and indignation, quickly paddling to the other side, her heart racing. Sekh pulled herself up on the other shore, her fur dripping with mud and swamp water.

"Damnit." she muttered. "Stupid swamp." She swung her head back around to glare at the log, slowly sinking down in the water.
