Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

With ears pricked forward intently my eyes of green and turquoise flashed over him, just as Mum had taught me. Assess every being you came across. He was a bit taller than me, and his paws were huge! If Mum was to be believed, that meant one day he would be monstrous in comparison to many wolves. Well, that was what she said about Los, anyways. My brother’s oversized paws meant he was going to be much bigger than Mana or me. I glanced down at my own paws, not really sure what mine meant about me. I shrugged, thinking that I was light on my feet, and that was good enough for me. As the thought brushed through my mind, the boy of white echoed my remark, and my gaze flashed back up to him as my tail began to wag a bit more noticeably. I wasn’t sure why he seemed so uncomfortable, being quiet was a good thing! “Thanks!” I chirped happily.

As he greeted me, my nostrils flared slightly as another scent began to waft through the woodlands towards us on a slight zephyr, heralding another's appraoch. My head lifted slightly and my attention was stolen from Aiden even as he spoke his name. A tall, beautiful shewolf emerged through the trees, her tail flowing out behind her and a smile gracing her features. My brows lifted slightly in surprise, but then my plumage began waving back and forth once more when she spoke. She seemed awful friendly! Her words were eloquently spoken, and my dial tipped slightly to the side in an innocent expression. “I’m Alcmene,” I declared once more. Then she told Aiden and me that her name was Ambrosia. Oh! Aiden! He’d asked me a question. How rude of me not to answer.

My gaze swiveled back to him. Both of them had told me it was such a pleasure to meet me, maybe I should reciprocate such nice words. “It’s great to meet you both, too,” I said, the tinkling of my voice light and expressive. “These are the Enocra Woodlands, Aiden. Anyone can come here and enjoy their beauty.” I smiled at him, hoping that answered his question. I looked back to Ambrosia then, glancing her over just as I had Aiden. She was much taller than both of us; surely an adult. But I really liked the freckles that speckled her face. And then I noticed the russet marking over her back, and I wondered for a moment if she was from Diveen. Mom had taught us a lot about angels and assassins, and Mum had taught us plenty about demons. Now Dad was starting to teach us about our mountain heritage, from which my pelt color descended from.

Glancing between my two new found friends, my mind raced with possibilities for what we could do. Hide and seek? Tag? Oh, but would Ambrosia want to play games? Maybe even Aiden wouldn’t be interested in that. As usual my mind went to practicing the hunt, but I actually wasn’t all that hungry either. Maybe Aiden or Ambrosia would have a better idea. I didn’t want to sound childish by suggesting some game, so instead I simply said, “So! Now what?” I looked back and forth between them expectantly, waiting for a reaction from either or both. Who knows, maybe they just wanted to continue on their respective paths. If that was the case, I could still enjoy the wonders and adventures the forest had to offer by myself.
