The forest stands tall and lush here; ancient trees reach weather-twisted arms to the sky, fighting monster-like storm clouds back with their interlacing fingers. Shadow seems to lurk everywhere you look, but it spills calmly, coolly, inspiring a sense of stealthy calm or protection rather than unease. That is, if you've forgotten what kind of creature might be stalking just out of sight...Abendrot is a land cradled by the dark woods on all sides; in the center, some of the larger trees stay behind to reveal a small plateau - a citadel where this pack can gather and defend itself from invaders. There are, of course, softer sides to the land. Clearings here and there allow the sun to throw down its rays in incongruously resplendent gold showers. Ignore the lingering scents of blood spattered here and there along the borders: those do not concern you. The river on one edge of the territory is playful enough when it hasn't been gorged by violent rain. You can choose to note the ragged claw marks raked down tree trunks and the forest floor as friendly "Home Sweet Home" signs, if you wish.

All who treasure loyalty, order, victory, and the occasional indulgence of raw visceral pleasure are welcome, once they've been approved by the ever-watchful eyes of Abendrot's Alpha. But keep one thing in mind: no matter what your motive, this is not a fool's Paradise. This is the land of soldiers, assassins, and spies. This is ABENDROT.

Make up your mind quickly and prepare to prove your worth. You wouldn't want to add to those blood spatters, would you...?

All That I See, Absolute Horror

_________________________________________________________________________

The family of three was making a big change in their lives, a change that the demoness never thought would happen. She stiffly followed her son, letting the adolescent have his moment to lead the group while walking silently by her daughter’s side. It would seem a shock to many that one as young as her already had two teenage kin, and she wondered what the lupines in the pack would think of them. Would it be as obvious as she thought it was what had happened to her and her family? The horrors that her and her brother had been forced through. The female tried not to let the memories come in, focusing all of her focus and energy on her young, but once the pups had grown enough to no longer need her by their side every moment she spend more and more time alone. And so more and more time for her thoughts and nightmares to creep back in. Thoughts of what her father had done to her and her younger brother were starting to haunt her more and more, and the fears that her father or uncle or other brother would find them were starting to come back. It had been many months since any of the three demons from her past had found them, their last encounter had not gone well. Azula remembered when her older brother, the “good” brother, had found her and her family, and the threats he had made to them. The brute had tried to take her pups away, to take them back to their father’s pack, the evil, monstrous pack where she had been raised. The pack she had escaped from, escaped to save her pups lives, was coming back to haunt her.

An unconscious snarl escaped the female’s throat as she thought of what her brother had done and when her father had come back. Azula and her younger brother, Kyron, had to fight their way through their family more than once, but once again they had escaped, running off with the two pups safely clamped in their jaws. The scar along the right side of her face and muzzle was evidence of the biggest fight Kyron and herself had to go through, when they escaped the pack they had been born into. Their past was not a fun one, it was one filled with pain and fear, and it was a place she knew she could never raise pups in. Even how her pups came to be was filled with horrors. Her brother had been forced to breed with her, the other lupines in the pack hurting and threatening death until the deed was done. And then there was the murderous tradition of taking any female’s first born pups and killing them violently in front of her, to show who was in charge and that the pups were not hers, they were the packs. When Azula realized she was pregnant she told her brother and they knew they had to leave. Love was not a word in her vocabulary, but if it was it was the feeling she had to the pups that she knew were growing in her and she would not let them be taken from her. And so the siblings had escaped, killing others in the process but knowing it was what needed to be done in order to save herself and her young. Death was not something knew to her and she felt no remorse for the lupines she savagely murdered, but instead had a sadistic enjoyment from the killings.

The dragoness forced herself to focus on what was going on in front of her, and not the memories that were always haunting her. She trotted over to Felan, knowing she would need to speak to her arrogant son before they arrived at the borders. Corde was too scared and skittish to do something stupid that could get her hut, but Felan was different. He was bold and fearless, and she did not want him doing something at the borders of Abendrot that could get him hurt. When she began to address him and saw the smirk on his face she nipped him reprimanding, needing him to realize the seriousness of this situation. It had taken a lot of convincing on Kyron’s part to take the family to a pack, but she knew if they could find the right pack that it could work out well. The multi-hued female had gone exploring around Blossom, looking into the different packs until she found one that she knew would be a good fit for her small family. When she came across Abendrot and heard of the leader within she knew she had found the right place. And so the small group had set out.

It was clear when the border was near and it seemed that Felan was about to just cross it foolishly and so Azula snapped at the boy to make him stop. She was glad that he still had the sense to listen to her, even though she knew he felt he no longer needed her. Felan sat down, obviously annoyed and impatient with her, but Azula ignored his attitude, looking to her daughter instead and sitting protectively close to her. She worried more about Corde than Felan, though she cared about them both greatly. It did not take long for the family to be joined by one of Abendrot’s lupines. A darkly colored brute approached them, looking over the group before addressing Azula. “Ma’am. Your name and intentions, if you please.” She noticed Felan’s eyes on her, waiting for instructions. She was proud he didn’t speak up or act out like he sometimes did, he was putting on a great impression. Her light green orbs met his, telling him to stay, but not harshly, letting him know he was doing well. The female brought herself to her paws, stepping forward a bit, brushing her tail along Corde’s side, letting her know she was still there and not going anywhere. ”My name is Azula. These are my kin, Felan,” She nodded in the direction of her son, ”and Corde.” Her orbs glanced to her daughter, wondering how she was fairing. ”We are here to join, if the King of these lands will allow us into his pack.” She was not being disrespectful to the brute before her, she recognized that he was a pack wolf and she was not, but she would not submit to him, and neither would her young. She could tell by the way this brute stood and held himself that he was not the leader, but she knew he could call for him. Her green orbs looked to the brute, waiting to see if there was more information required of her or if he would share his name and rank.
