Congratulations to Adrian on her promotion to Governess. She will handle the guidance and teaching of our young pups in Iromar.

He never looks away from the elk skull and I find myself wondering what he's thinking. I can see his ears flicking in my direction and I know he's listening but it doesn't seem like his mind is fully present. He must be thinking about Lillith. I wonder if he's sent out search parties. She's got to be around here somewhere. Maybe someone kidnapped her? I don't see why she would ever leave Iromar willingly, or Andras. He's her imprint, the other half of her soul. That makes a difference right? I've never felt the imprint bond myself but they say it binds you to the other wolf, makes you stronger together. They've been a strong union ever since they took over Iromar. I admired them as a growing pup. Now I only get to see Andras and though he's my role model, the one who reached out to me as a pup, I can see that he's broken without her.
His words confuse me though. Runs in hell? Destroying all enemies? Surely he can't be talking about the elk. Who would it kill? Blades of grass? I tilt my head, seearching his expression for answers and when it finally comes to me, my heart bottoms out, a small gasp leaving my lips as I take a brief step back. If not the elk then...Lillith. Her absence, his wounded soul. He's not upset because she's gone. He's upset because she's dead. I look down at my paws, cursing myself for not realizing the truth, for missing the hints. Aithne never said anything about Lillith but then that wasn't the point of our conversation so why would she? Her name never came up otherwise I'm sure she would have told me. My jaw tightens, my mind in turmoil over the new news I never expected to hear. Lillith, dead? She had a reputation as a cold hearted killer. Who would take her down?
But I know I must answer, must give his mind some kind of comfort. I offer a sly smirk.
"She probably already wears the title of Queen down there."
His whisper was so dark, so cast down, so weak over his normal voice. I can almost see him breaking right in front of me and it's devastating to watch. When he finally lifts his gaze to mine, I give him the most determined look I have, wanting to reset the fire in him, the fire that made me admire him more than my own parents. His words wound me, my chest constricting as my ears flick back in distaste, my nose twitching as my tail gives a flick. What's this? Words of surrender? My eyes darken and I take a daring step toward him.
"You speak of death, of defeat, Andras. Is that really what you've been reduced to? Maggots and ravens, they live off the death that YOU bring, not the death that you accept as your own. You have a promise fo my strength but I need your strength too. I need your promise because if you accept death before the first blow, Iromar will fall before Aithne or I can save it."
I can see that he hates the words, hates saying them and this wounds me further. Why waste the breath to say them? I can hear his teeth grinding. My tail flicks again.
"When the time comes? Andras, you're inviting it through Iromar's doors right now with this talk. You need to dig in and fight this. If you were gone and Lillith remained, would she be saying these words? Admitting her own demise? You need to think long and hard on how you want to go out of this world, Andras, cause I expect better than this."
Call it disrespect, call it downright insubordination if you want, but someone's got to set him straight. He's moping and no one's told him to straighten up. How can Iromar thrive if the one wearing the crown has already picked out a grave? This is not the actions of a king, of the Andras I knew growing up. I need him back to train me, to be my alpha. I do not grovel and call him my king. I will title him as such when he acts the part. I hold my ground, knowing this could go several ways. He could do as i say and look for that part of him that I know still exists or he could turn on me, maybe run me out of Iromar for my harsh words but if I don't say them, who will? Aithne told me I should be his strength, his weapon. She told me I should be there to help balance his decisions. Maybe I'm doing the wrong thing or maybe this is what he's needed all along.

Monarch
Pretty simple, Alpha of Iromar. Ultimate authority. What I say, goes.
Chief
The 'Co-Alpha'. He is her equal and has all the same authorities as she does. He is be respected and can take challenges and block steals.
Deputy
The Beta of Iromar. The most trusted wolf under the Alpha. Has all the same authorities of the Monarch in her absence. Second in command. Can block steals and take challenges.
Council
The advisor to the Monarch. One who's wisdom is often sought in matters of politics and war. Not necessarily an elder but someone the Monarch looks up to.
Trooper
The head warrior of Iromar. Shows the most skill in combat and has experience to back it up. Trains the soldiers and serves as their direct supervisor. Can block steals.
Stalker
The head hunter of Iromar. Shows the most skill in hunting and providing for the pack. Tasked with leading pack hunts and teaching the pups of the pack at designated times. Trains the hunters and serves as their direct supervisor. Can block steals.
Medic
The head healer of Iromar. Skilled in herbs and emergency medicine. Tasked with checking on the Monarch/Deputy after a challenge and also keeping up with mothers around birthing time. Trains the healers and serves as their direct supervisor. Can block steals.
Envoy
The head diplomat in Iromar. Skilled in matters of politics and conversation. Intelligent and witty, this wolf keeps the pack together as one while reaching out to potential allies for support. Council is their direct supervisor. Trains the diplomats and serves as their direct supervisor. Can block steals.
Governess
The guardian of offspring in Iromar. Skilled as a warrior and alert as a scout, this wolf is tasked with probably one of the most important jobs in Iromar, protecting the future of the pack and Moladian. They can watch the litter while the parents are off doing tasks, hunting, or just enjoying some quiet time. Can serve as guides for the pups, like having a full time guardian. Trains the teachers and serves as their direct supervisor. Can block steals.
Snoop
The head spy in Iromar. Skilled in maneuverability and blending in, this wolf must be a shadow when called upon. Tasked with finding out information about other packs or wolves when called upon, this wolf must be quick as well as witty, able to make anyone believe anything. Also serves as a thief when the need arises. Trains the spies and serves as their direct supervisor. Can block steals.
Chronicler
The head story teller of Iromar. This wolf has done their research on all things Iromar and Moladian. They can give a good history lesson or spin a tale on demand when the younger minds call for distraction. Able to captivate an audience. May even help with speeches for the Monarch when necessary. No one to train but the pups or even adults of Iromar when they have questions or curiosity about the past. This wolf may even be called upon by the Council at times. Can block steals.
Soothsayer
The seer of Iromar. This is a special rank made specifically for a wolf with "the sight." Consider her an advisor/spy of sorts for the alpha and rest of the pack. She/he can gather intel from outside or supernatural forces. You don't have to believe in the magic of this ability for any wolf with this rank will be respected as a ranked member of the pack. Can block steals.
Warriors- Members of the Iromar army. Skilled in combat and overseen by the Trooper.
Hunters- Providers for Iromar. Skilled in scavenging and hunting.
Healers- Doctors of Iromar. Skilled in herbs and emergency medicine for those in need.
Diplomats- Extroverts of Iromar. Skilled in politics and overall conversation.
Spies- Scouts and thieves of Iromar. Skilled in blending in and masking themselves when called upon.
Teachers- Guardians of the youth of Iromar. Skilled in defense and culture. They shape the young minds of the future.
Children-The pups of Iromar. To be cherished as they are precious for the future of the land. Shape them and mold them into something we can all be proud of.
Members- Overall pack members of Iromar. Not specialized in a particular field yet but just as important to the population.
