Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

Praetor
if only the world could know who I really am

I can always sympathize with the creatures that we kill, and their point of view. I mean, no one wants to die, so I am not exactly angered by the fact that the crab attempts to bring me harm as I bring it harm...yet I do not wish to feel the harsh pincers upon my muzzle. I have felt it before, and it is simply not a pleasant experience.

Yet I do not expect her reaction to be such a strong one. Perhaps it is the predator within her- the predator that is within all wolves all the way down to the bone. The crab does attempt to bring harm upon me, I am able to dodge such a thing, but I feel the intensity of her very being in the moment the crab reacted. Her snarl vibrated my very heart and sent chills down my spine. I was already in the middle of my own attack on one pincer, cracking it off, and yet she went for the other almost perfectly in sync. It made my cheeks feel warm and my tail lift into a stiff wag of excitement. I can feel the poking of the other legs into my fur, but it was nothing really, nothing like the pincers which were not fully disabled.

I spit the leg out of my mouth, knowing best to save it, but it is too late for Aithne. My eyes look towards her, my mouth just spitting out the leg as she crunches into it, consuming the shell and all. My mouth seems to be...stuck, unable to speak for some unknown reason as I look at her in shock. Her words come, kicking my mind out of the spot it was in as a small smile cracks onto my lips. I cannot help it if my smile twists into a larger one, and I cannot help but laugh slightly, playfully.

"Oh...oh no! No no, you...aha, you don't eat it like that!" I say among laughs, though soft laughs they were, I was hoping they do not offend her and yet...sometimes one cannot stifle their own laughter. I still felt the crab alive below me, struggling, and I knew I needed to end its life quickly but...for whatever reason, she took precedence in this moment.

"You don't eat the shell, the outer part. Eating crab does take a bit more...patience, here, I'll show you," I said with my laughter fading into a happy grin towards her, before my jaws begin to ravage the softer underbelly. The legs still wiggle in the air and poke at my fur, but in time as I rip at the soft under shell and begin to expose the innards, does it begin to slow in its movements. Yet it still remains alive, as I do not rip at the softer meat below. I spit out the soft shell from my mouth, showing her the exposed meat.

"You rip off the shell, then eat the meat. It is easier on the body, the legs...take a bit more practice," I state, my front teeth reaching in to take a small bite of sweet crab meat, before I lift my head and motion her to take a bite. "Here, have some! There are...compartments inside the crab, sectioned off by inner shell but, there is still plenty of meat inside!" I say with excitement, for some reason, feeling very pleased to be sharing the Aithne's first crab experience with her. Even if she is a bit...serious, I almost feel like a giddy puppy again.
