He couldn't help but feel a little lost without Iblis. Vincent held a great deal of respect for the wolf, both as a man and as an alpha, and just like that- he was gone. It left him reeling, scrabbling in the dark for purpose yet again, a feeling that he despised so very deeply. Down in his core Vincent knew that without purpose, life was simply a scattered series of events, related no more than the fact that they were subsequent. The huge wolf knew he had found that purpose in Asteraia, but the wolf who had bestowed such a job upon him was gone. Rhae remained and it wasn't as if Vince didn't trust her, but it was hard to shift his loyalty. But he would have to figure something out, because he still had a job to do.
There was nothing interesting about today, no more interesting than the past days. Time seemed to float away on the breeze when you were content, and contentment was not an emotion Vincent was used to feeling. Something inside of him still ached for the danger, the high-stakes games he used to play. He was no murderer, but still felt himself longing for the feeling of teeth on skin, the taste of blood and sweat and saliva.
He had to distract himself, try to find the cool indifference again. He couldn't have emotion and reservation get in the way of doing his job, as distracting as the pair could be, especially when put together. So a need for distraction had drawn him out of his den and across the rolling hills of Asteraia.
Vince had never cared much for running, but there was something about it that made it easy to get lost in the feeling of the wind and the smell of the air. His jaws snapped at the air as he loped through the hills, the biting air welcome and refreshing. This distraction would work for a while, he figured, until he could find something better to do. A distraction that wouldn't leave him empty after it was over. So maybe he was searching for something a bit more fulfilling than running through the hills.
The brute slowed to a stop, ears swiveling forward as he caught sight of the skinny girl. The name 'Delya' came to mind, and Vincent easily recognized her as the beta of the pack. He wasn't sure where they stood, having never quite been properly introduced, but striking up a conversation with her surely couldn't hurt. He had never been one to 'make friends,' but there was a first time for everything. And technically they were in the same game, serving under Iblis, or Rhae now.
Vince let out a bark, his tail giving a few wags as he padded a bit closer to Delya, his body language cordial but reserved.
"Hey there." he said in way of a greeting, his fiery eyes settled upon her. He could think of a million things to follow up with, but none of them seemed quite right. So he simply settled on a characteristic grin, his white-marked tail giving a few noncommittal wags. This seemed about right for a distraction.
