Alibi continued to be unsure of what to do. Part of her wanted to ignore Skylar and walk away. She had been ignored, why couldn’t she do the same in return? But that wasn’t how she was raised. The young colt’s excitement disappeared when this mare also ignored him and kept walking towards his mother. A frustrated and hurt look crept across his face as he lowered his head towards the ground and walked away from the pair. Rejected again. He thought.

As Skylar reached her nose out to touch her, she took a step away so she was out of reach. Her ears pricked forward as her friend began to speak. “Forgiveness doesn’t happen overnight.” The words weren’t full of anger, it was more hurt than anything. She hesitated, unsure of what else to say. She looked past Skylar as she watched the colt for a moment. She wished more than anything to be rid of that pest.

She returned her attention back to Skylar. She watched her, but said nothing. She was at a loss for words. It was uncomfortable silence between the two. Her annoying pest made his way back over to the mares. He looked at the new one but continued on to his mother and stood next to her though he was careful not to stand too close to her and actually touch her.
