The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

The constant drip, drip, drip echoed loudly in the caves that twisted under the land of Moladion. Each time a water droplet fell to the cold earth the dark colored wolf twitched her ears and she would move towards the sound. The dark made it hard to move and each step she took was carefully placed, her claws clacking against the stone quietly. Nakato was a stranger to this land though she had heard many tales of the wolves that called Moladion home. When she was a child, the elders told her of the wolves who had upset the gods and for their crimes they were punished . Skyfire had fallen upon the land and killed most of them. But a few had managed to survived and after the gods had calmed they returned to their home.

The dark wolfess had often dreamed about seeing that place. What must the wolves be like? As a child she thought about magnificent creatures with wings or horns. Something unlike anything that should live on this world. When she was old enough to travel on her own, Nakato knew the first place she wanted to see. Moladion. And so, with a sure step, she made her way towards the fabled land.

Thus far it hadn't been like anything what her dreams had told her. A day a go she had entered a cave with a strange smell and she knew, deep down, that she had found the place. But it was just any other old cave and with her curiosity unfulfilled she followed the dark path, listening to the dripping water guiding her. At long last, Nakato saw a ray of light filter into the cave. Her little bob tail wagged, causing her back legs to sway slightly, as a sigh escaped her mouth. The bright sun light of winter was a welcome sight and she couldn't stop herself from racing out of the caves and into the white washed land.

While it was not the mystical land she had dreamed about, there was no doubt this place was beautiful. Huge forests sprung up all around and wide, open plains, and even a tall mountain range. The world was covered in snow now but what this place must look like when the green warmth of spring melted the death away! She had to see it and until that day finally came she would get to know this place and the magical wolves who called it home. Dark paws carried the stranger further and further into Moladion and the deeper she went, the more she knew this place was to become her home. Nakato's story started now.
