Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

To his credit, Dante had never so much as touched her after their imprinting occurred. She had been the only one to reach out and make contact, after he saved her from the bear, and that was the last physical contact they’d ever known. She had known how concerned he was for her safety, her happiness, and she had known that if Sen hadn’t already taken her heart, Dante would have been endless in his pursuit of it. But her physical form, her body, and her basic ability to carry on his lineage…somehow, she knew he wasn’t after that. He thought her beautiful, certainly, but not a simple vessel for his children. This stranger, though, this new invader of her thoughts and feelings – well, she knew what lust looked like.

And her body was giving off every signal that it could, urging him on.

She did everything within her power to make it clear that he was not invited. Her ears folded back at the sound of his voice, and she narrowed the lavender eyes that so clearly stated “I am not for you,” but she suspected that he had his own plans, and she kept her muscles poised, ready to defend. Otherwise, she kept her place, watching closely as he took a calculated step forward, closing some of the distance between them. Let him creep, let him imagine what she might feel like under him – when it came down to it, he’d learn something.

Apart from her eyes, which said and did what they would, she tried to keep her face serene. She pulled the tension from her lips and her brow, and let a peace settle over her features. She smiled –not the bright, glowing expression that was her talent, but no less disarming- and allowed him to move forward without complaint. Another wave of heat washed over her, despite the chill in the air around them, and she wondered vaguely if it was his physical presence or just the effect of two imprints in such close proximity to one another. For a moment her vision glassed over and she couldn’t focus on the details of his face, but it passed, and there he was again. As close as ever. Closer than even Sen had been since she’d returned home.

Her white knight. Her ghost. She felt her skin quiver.

She had to say something.

Is Shiver okay?” Repeating his name seemed safe while she gathered herself, assessed the situation, and tamed whatever wildness he was sparking in her mind. As far as she could tell, he was already longing to touch her, to feel the warmth of her fur against his chest; she didn’t breathe his name through smiling lips. It didn’t seem necessary to fuel a fire that was already burning hot. She was out of practice, but things were coming back to her. Hush felt sure that she could play him and walk away with her dignity intact. Better to lead him on than to return to Taviora with blood on her thighs and puppies in her womb. “Shiv seems a little…intimate, don’t you think?

The game didn’t come without risk, though. She dropped her defensive posture, which pulled the tightness from her shoulders, her hindquarters, and her neck, allowing her body to rest in its natural, graceful curves. “I mean, we’ve just met” she finished, with a shy, quiet giggle. “Forgive me…but I know what you are. The who is something only you can tell me.” This she said so softly he would have to strain to hear, as if she were afraid of offending him, afraid of chasing him away. Though Hush reigned in her smile, she locked eyes with Shiver, throwing him a long gaze that was almost warm. Almost inviting. It hinted everything and promised nothing. It had been some time since she’d tried that stare on anyone, but it came to her readily. She wondered what she looked like from his perspective. Was he inflamed? Confused? It was a question she’d probably never get to ask him.

For now, she just watched him, boring her eyes into his.
