At the densest section of the forest, there is a brief clearing where a steady flow of water streams down the slippery stone staircase. The water here is cool and refreshing. Staircase Falls has been rumoured to be the place where reality is met by magic; where peaceful spirits dwell. They are rumoured to have healing powers that are used to help the desperately hurt, though no one has experienced this, except for, perhaps, Kaive.

My redemption's something I will never know.

The moment Ro leaned into the embrace, began to cry, he felt himself shrinking. He had tightened himself into a ball against the femme's chest, it was true, but there was something else. The little puppy he'd never been working it's way up from the depths of his being. He should have been able to cope with this; his mother had died after all. Not that he remembered her enough to feel sad about it anymore. He'd always been akward around females when they weren't telling him what to do and Kahn had said it was because he lacked a motherly touch. The boy had been surrounded by the bullheadedness, harshness, and focus on military his whole life. Rarely a kind word was thrown his way, though his uncle's affection manifested itself in different ways Ro knew. Sometimes he imagined the kind of person he'd have become if his mother hadn't been killed. Probably much like he was now: a warrior, military genius, prince. Only more so. Would he like this person? Did he like the one he was now? The one he was becoming?

Ro was able to calm himself quickly and regain his composure. Kahn would not want him to a be a sniveling fool. "I'm sorry." he apologized for his tears. "A warrior never cries." His calm was only there briefly though. He was panicked not soon after. This was someone who needed structure. He thrived on the strict regime that had been implemented in his life. Now that it was gone, he didn't know what do with himself which drove him even more mad. All that he could think about was what he could've done and what he should've done.

He looked at Dany when she spoke. "I'm sorry for your loss." he said softly. "But you are strong. Kahn taught you well and you will survive this. His memory and spirit will live on within you." He looked at her doubtfully, snorting slightly. "I maybe physically strong, but clearly I am so strong as I thought I was. A warrior never cries. I pity him if this is how I honor him: by sniveling and feeling bad for myself. He deserves better." Ro had always thought so. Kahn could have been the general in their army, but he'd forsaken that life long ago. Dany moved closer to him, offering an embrace should he need one. The ivory beast didn't move. He was done with weakness. With love and caring. It hurt so much, he just wanted to forget it, be rid of it.

"Do not mourn him." He looked the femme right in her eyes, his own clear when he said it. The tone was sharp and he regretted it instantly. "He wouldn't have wanted it." he said more softly. Rodan knew that this was not how they did things down here, but Kahn was not from here and neither was Ro. "He - we, come from a military society. The majority of our people die on the battlefield. There is no way we can take them home and give them a proper ceremony. We mourn briefly, tears are not shed. I have gone above and beyond what is expected." his lips gave a very quick upturn. "At least he died an honorable death. He was always afraid he wouldn't." "... As hard as this is, you will survive it."

He didn't say it, merely thought it. Who says I want to.? he nodded to Dany. "Thank you." He knew she wanted to help, but he truly didn't now how she could. Everything he needed was something he would have to make himself. So instead, he took a chance. He reached out, tried to make a friend. "I know that Kahn and I never really talked much about our past and while I don't know much about his I can answer questions. It'll help take my mind off things." This was how she could help. Distract him.

Ooc: he has a really weird way of dealing with grief and emotions which is why he acts really bipolar
