Life had a funny way of throwing things at you when you least expected it. Vincent certainly hadn't expected to find his soul out here, and he hadn't expected to feel so... attached. He had never really had someone like that, not even family or any of the few wolves he could call friends. It seemed that other wolves were able to find such bonds so quickly and easily, but when it came down to it Vince simply found himself lost when it came to interpersonal relationships. But for Spirit... he wanted to try. There was just something about her- if she were to tell him the most boring story in the entire world, he would still be completely enraptured. Even now, the brute couldn't tear his fiery eyes away from her. For better or for worse, he was completely smitten with the girl.
Vincent only grew more comfortable as she seemed to relax, though she still appeared rather shy especially when he complimented her. He couldn't help but smirk as she looked down- it was quite clear she had never really been talked to in such a way. It was... cute. Vince was definitely not the kind of wolf that called things cute but she was kind of... adorable. It was weird to think about another creature in that context, but it wasn't an unwelcome thought. The hulking creature was brutal, maybe he needed something cute in his life.
He tilted his head as she shared where she had come from. He was happy that she was comfortable sharing something about herself, even if it was a small part. Vincent had never really understood the lifestyle of a loner, it was simply the nature of a wolf to seek out a pack, but perhaps some just preferred to stay on their own even if it was harder. He had never felt restricted by the packs he was in, but then again he was rather high up in the hierarchy. Maybe it was different for wolves that didn't hold an important position.
His tail curled around his paws neatly as he gazed down at her.
"Is that what you prefer?" Vince asked with a flick of his ears.
"Bein' own your own, I mean." He was referring to pack life, but there was really a hidden meaning to his words. He didn't want to leave her side, yet if she was independent he might have to. Vincent was getting ahead of himself, but he couldn't help but picture Spirit sleeping by his side in Asteraia.
"I've just been in a pack my whole life. I never understood why anyone'd choose to be a loner." he explained with a small shrug, trying to keep the conversation less personal than the thoughts he was having.
