Spring. Normally a joyous time for packs. To welcome in a new generation with the earths renewal. But for this one small pack, a pack just barely starting out, there were some complications. The cave they occupied was only another temporary home within the craggs. They were constantly on the move and it was time to move again. But for reasons unknown to any, they had to leave quickly. And in the hustle and bustle of a small pack, a pup was accidentally left behind.
A small, very leggy pup of beige fur with dark guard hairs, lay curled in a ball, her tiny nose tucked into bushy tail. She had a habit of sleeping separate from her siblings. Not wanting to be kicked in the muzzle or anything. But this right here was her mistake. That and being born to a first time mother. Her mother was so easily overwhelmed, she constantly lost track of them all once their eyes and ears were opened. But who could blame a pup for being curious about so many new things.
Anyways, she had fallen asleep to the dull sounds of steady breathing. Since her ears had just barely opened, they were still quite blocked. But at some point at the break of dawn, she had awoken to the morning light pouring in. Her vision is hazy at first, but after blinking those blue gray eyes a few times, she comes to realize that she was completely alone. She staggers up onto the long spindly legs of hers and frantically searches about in a loud display of yips, yowls, and whimpers. She's completely unaware of the fact that her pack would be coming back at all.
Her sad and lonesome vocals continue, echoing throughout the cave as she stammers out and collapses in the warm sunglight. She lay there, sprawled out unsure of what to do now. Tears from in those blue gray eyes of hers but never fall. She just lays there, whimpering and staring out at the sun as it rises. Hoping in her tiny heart that they would come back.
