Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

He wondered if his son had been expecting him, or perhaps seeking him out while he had been all over Glorall, all too busy for no particular reason. It was difficult at times, to spend his time equally with all his children, particularly as they had begun to bloom into adulthood. Without Caligula, it became even harder to maintain those strong connections, or at least that was how it felt at times. He desired that closeness but he was simply unsure as to how to go about it. Even with Octavia, he felt somewhat awkward attempting to reconnect. Then again, his wandering daughter had a much keener interest in proving herself to her brothers and reclaiming the devoted love of Cersei. Tesseract could understand taking a slower approach with her but with Praetor? Well, he had few sons. He would never have dreamed of losing them in any way.

He was glad then to find his son approach with a keen smile, an expression that ignited a similar one across Tesseract's own face. If it was an omen, then at least it was a good one. It also gave him hope that his son had not felt... neglected, or ignored at the least. Praetor had been busy, sure, but that didn't mean he was different to any other wolf, surely: everyone wanted family, even if it wasn't their blood. Tesseract's tail gave a little wave as he loped towards his son, moving in a short circle around him so that he might lean in gently in what could be considered an affectionate greeting, he supposed. It had just become a habit to greet family in such a way, though perhaps he leaned in just a little moreso when he saw the corners of his son's lips drop.

With tentative steps, he moved once more to be before his son, his position one of power and yet much more relaxed than usual. Of all his children, he had to admit that he worried far less about Praetor turning his teeth on him. A cruel thought, perhaps, but the truth. Tesseract could not pretend to himself that it did not run in the family; he still remembered his own siblings all too well, and his conversation with Azrael all those years ago. His blood was thick with the meaning of family, but that definition did not always extend enough to cover everybody who shared the same genes. For now, though, he was content to dismiss such thoughts and offer a kinder smile, a more fatherly expression as he took his place before his son.

"I, too, have been hoping to speak with you, son. I feel like there is much I have missed - Octavia's return made me realize such a thing."

He paused, his ears flickering for a moment before he registered a small rise a short distance from them. He motioned towards it with his muzzle before ambling towards it, waiting for his son to follow before taking his position atop the rise. From there, they could see the beaches and sea to the east far better, the breeze better received and the air sweeter. Once they reached the destination, Tesseract stretched his legs lazily before flopping into a seated position, allowing himself a moment to enjoy the sun and breeze before turning towards his son once more with an inquisitive expression.

"Is there something in particular you wanted to discuss?"

He figured they should at least begin with Praetor's agenda, seeing as Tesseract was doing his best to be a father today.
