The art of love is largely the art of persistence Georgiana & Isobel cont.

Braylen knew there would be argument, but truthfully the stallion had expected it more out of Georgiana than Isobel. Regardless, the stallion would not be swayed. He would try to be gentle though; not wanting them to think he was trying to get rid of them when it was far from that. Truthfully; Braylen could barely stand the thought of leaving them behind in a search for another secure home to raise their children. But with both mares growing with child he couldn't risk a scuffle between them and a herd that didn't wish to share the territory with them. He could see that just the swim between the Forest and the Crossing had worn them down; how could they hold up to the constant swimming and traveling until he found acceptance somewhere?

Locking his blue eyes with Isobel, he tilted his ears back but didn't pin them. He wanted her to see just how serious he was and wouldn't be pushed on the matter. "I will not risk the life of our child by taking you along with me Isobel." he said before turning his gaze to Georgiana and reaching out his nose to bump her shoulder. "Same goes for you, Georgiana." Braylen said before pulling his nose away to gaze at them both. "Not only that, what if we ran into a aggressive stallion? I will not have you two in harms way. Too much has been taken away. I can not handle it if something happened to either of you. So please, just stay here."

Braylen hoped that his argument was valid enough as the scent of his mother soon washed over him. Turning his head he watched as Skylar emerged from the trees nearest to the mountain. Her golden eyes held sharp curiosity and a hint of worry that she did well to hide to most else but her son who knew her so well. "Mother" he greeted, turning and extending his nose that she carefully bumped before looking to the two weary mares. "It is good to see you all." Skylar said, recognizing the scents from when she had visited the Forest. "But by the expression of everyone I don't think this is a good visit?" the painted woman asked, turning her eyes back to her son. Braylen sighed heavily and hung his head slightly. "Father lost the Forest" he admitted and despite Skylar's shock she remained silent so that Braylen could continue. "I have come to ask for Georgiana and Isobel a safe place to rest while I search for us a new home."

Skylar looked at her son a long moment before turning her darkening gaze to the two mares. This was heavy news to bear but she knew it wasn't nearly as bad to her as it was the two Braylen had brought with him heavy with child. "Of course. You both are welcome in the Peak. You may stay as long as wanted or needed." she said, her tone gentle and warm. Braylen passed his mother a grateful smile. "Thank you." he breathed a sigh of relief. "I will be back for you both soon. I will not rest until we are all safely in a new home." Braylen vowed to each of the mares, reaching out to give an affectionate brush of his muzzle to them before turning away and taking his leave.

Skylar watched him go before looking at the mares. "My name is Skylar." she offered before a heavy sigh escaped her lips. "I'm so sorry for your loss, but I'm sure fortune will look up once more. Braylen is a very persistent stallion." A faint smirk graced her lips. "He must get it from his mother."
