aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

The brute was concerned from the moment that he saw the white femme. He knew that she was hurt and that he did not have the skills to treat her properly. Sure in a life or death emergency he could try to save a lupines life, he would not just leave a being to die. But he knew this femme, this Amalthea, was not in a life or death situation, so he knew he needed the help of a healer in order to give her the best care. Summer realized that Bright Moon should recruit in a healer, or form more of an alliance with a pack that had one. He knew that Aurora Borealis had a reasonable leader, not like their enemy pack, and he thought it would be okay to travel there with the femme. When the brute asked where her to tell him where she was hurt, at first she just stared at him and he was worried that she was too afraid to tell her where she was hurt. He knew that she would not want to expose where she was vulnerable, but he was not going to hurt her and only wanted to help her. He did not speak, instead hoping that his silence would show that he meant no harm and after a few moments she looked at her injured limb fixedly and he sighed in relief, glad that she had trusted him. He smiled at her warmly when he next spoke, telling her they had to travel and get her some help. Even though the last time he had tried to approach her she had flinched and moved away in fear, he knew she would need support walking and hoped that she was okay with him approaching her now. When the smoky brute stood by her side she did not try and bolt as she had done last time, and he gave her an encouraging smile.

As the pair began their slow journey he noted that the femme was nervous, very nervous. He saw her orbs almost constantly watching him, as if she was afraid that he was suddenly going to change and hurt her instead of help her. If he thought words would help, then he would have spoken to her, but he thought actions would do more help this time. So instead of speaking he silently walked by her side, offering a paw whenever she stumbled, never moving quickly or suddenly, so she could see exactly what he was doing as he guided her to Aurora’s territory. Summer picked up on her harsh breathing and could only imagine the pain that she must be in. When he was a pup he had broken two of his limbs and he thought he would die from the pain, and now it looked like this femme was going through a similar experience. After a while they finally made it to the borders of Aurora. He told her they were there and helped her to the ground, internally wincing when he saw how much pain she was in, wishing he could take her pain away. When Summer told her that he was going to call for Hellene now she stared at him, obviously afraid of who was going to come. ”It will be okay, I promise.” He spoke softly to her, with a warm smile, before he lifted his maw to the sky and called for Hellene to come to help them. He saw her flinch out of the corner of his eye, as if his vocals hurt her in some way.

Amalthea froze after Summer let out his call, clearly terrified once more. He kept silent this time, knowing that Hellene would be here soon and that the femme would see that the other lupine was coming to help her and not to hurt her. Summer was annoyed to see Hellene charging through the trees with a fierce purpose, as if someone was threating her, and growled at the pair when she was finally in front of them. Amalthea had shifted to be closer to Summer, and he was glad that she was finally beginning to trust him. When Hellene’s fierce form first came through the trees he stood protectively in front of Amalthea’s injured form, his plume resting gently on her shoulder to try and comfort her, to let her know that it was okay without words. Once Hellene figured out that no one had been attacked and that herself and her pack was not in danger her disposition changed and was no longer hostile. “…what happened?” Amalthea’s orbs looked questioningly at the brute, and he nodded, letting her know that this was Hellene, the healer that he had called form and surprisingly she began to speak. “I…tripped.” Summer was proud that she had been brave enough to speak those words to Hellene as it had seemed so difficult to utter any words at all. ”Hellene, I know we have not met before. I am Summer, alpha of Bright Moon. I have heard that you are a good healer and know that you have a reasonable alpha here and when I found Amalthea here injured in my pack I hoped that you would be able to help her. Can you examine her injured limb please? Myself and my pack will be in your and Aurora Borealis’ debt if you can help her.” He waited to see what she would say, still standing close by Amalthea’s side, not planning on leaving her at any point.
