The silence is deafening to her little ears, her trembling body huddled so close to her sister. The sounds of the other pups are muffled as her heart pounds against her chest, a few whimpers catching on her lips. It is then pale eyes rise from the safety of the soil to the image just outside of the den. It all seemed to happen so fast she is having a hard time remembering what all had happened. She does know that Mommy and Daddy are not here, safe in the den with her. The scent of blood is heavy as the poor child shakes more in fear and worry hoping her family was safe yet knowing something was so very wrong. A loud gasp is heard from the runt, tears willing in those pale forest eyes as her lips trembles at the sight of her mommy covered in red, uncaring of what she holds in her mouth as she cries out and scrambles to the entrance of the den. But the snarl mommy makes causes her to stop, tripping over herself as her tail ducks between her legs, even though it was not meant towards her it still causes her to yield.
This moment allows her to look over at her Uncky Nei who lay upon the shoulders of the beast a sad mournful cry tearing her little heart at the sight. Her body trembling uncontrollably at the sadness that surrounds this once beautiful day. As green eyes seek her parents it is the movement at her side that draws her attention away as she looks upon her big brother vaddy as he moves out of the den and towards two large red lumps. It is then she realizes these lumps are not lumps at all but her parents as she scrambles to follow Vaddy and go to them. She cries in her pursuit, tripping over her little feet due to the trembles that rack her body as her face implants in the soil but she does not linger, quick to rise as she hurries to them. Flinging her little body against her mommy as the blood that drips from her soon clings her own tri- colored coat, she does not care though. Like an ant to a mountain she climbs her daddy and mommy, almost tumbling from the great height.
Tears stream from her eyes as she whimpers constantly, her throat burning at the sight of her Daddy, the giant who she loved no matter what. Her mommy's shallow breaths blowing against her body as she nuzzles the cheek of her mommy, licking at the blood as if to comfort and remove it from her before she moves to her daddy, gently tugging at his ear hoping he would wake up and show her he was ok. She needed him to be ok. This was her daddy. He was big and brave, too strong. Tugging a little harder upon his ear, though not too hard to harm for she never wanted to hurt her daddy but still yet he does not move.
"Daddy, wake up!" She pauses a choked breath,
"Daddy, please for me wake up." She cries helplessly. Tugging harder once more as she looses her balance and topples to the ground below.
She yelps at the impact but does not stay down, moving to face her father head on as she paws at his muzzle, pale eyes bleeding with so much love and pain it almost blinds her.
"No, no, no daddy." She looks ups to her red mommy, who lay stretched along his side.
"Mommy wake up, daddy needs us." Yet the idle motion makes her heart fall so fast her body complies as she lays nose to nose with her daddy, eyes shut tight as her body is torn with sobs and choked whispers of love and apologies. Little ears hear the mournful calls as her brother joins in and she cannot refuse the need to add in her own. As her little lungs brace for the song that nearly shatters her heart as her soft melody filled with loss joins in. The pain and loss breaking the bright little child as she clings to her fathers muzzle still yet.
