Announcements as of July 28, 2021

I have called you, and you have answered my call --

Do not mistake my silence for weakness, my forest kin. For I am willing to defend you with my fangs and claws, until the days come when am no longer able to. Keep an eye on the borders for Zelda and her sister Midna, because I will welcome them back into the flock on the day of their return.

The flood has left our forest home in a sorry state of disarray. I shall not tolerate this. Summer is here and we must rebuild our dens in time for winter. There is a lot of hard and dirty work ahead of us. But we shall face it together, as family, as a pack. Let's get back to work and then we shall hunt. I hunger for a feast.

From your new Alpha --

Moonshade, the Gravekeeper of Moladion

LEVI
i will be your wings

She was surprised when I asked if she could not speak, like she did not expect me to come to that conclusion, didn't expect me to understand. The way her eyes widen and she nods slowly tells me that not many, if any figured it out, understood her silence. It wouldn't surprise me that many did not understand, most wolves were idiots i'd come to find out; it was why I was known for being less than sociable. I called things as I saw them, and that often upset others when I called them out on their stupidity. Tuari was much different than them, stronger and smarter. She had learned to work around what fate had decided to take from her. Smart enough to figure out how to speak without words and strong enough to use her silence to her advantage and become a stealthy hunter.

She smiles happily, her tail swaying once again, and it fills me with a strange desire to make her happy. Somehow her happiness fills me with my own happiness, bound together like our souls. It is the work of imprinting I am sure. But if her happiness feeds into my happiness, why not try and make her happy all the time, whenever possible? It was beneficial to both of us, completely symbiotic. That was the thing with imprinting, you shared so much with the other, including feelings. I would share her pain, her sadness, her happiness. Mother had told me that this wasn't as strong with females as it was with males, so it made me wonder just what she felt. Did she feel my happiness at her happiness? Would she feel my pain when I fought for a pack? I guess these are all questions that will be answered in due time, as we both grow and develop around this strange magical bond.

She didn't leave me looking like an idiot as I tried to piece together her name. She offered me nods and smiles when I was on the right track and shakes of the head when I had veered away from the correct path. And then finally all of the puzzle pieces were put together in my head and I had her name. She smiled bigger than I had seen yet and nodded enthusiastically, even going so far as to bounce on her paws slightly in joy. And there it was, that sudden warmth that blossomed all throughout me whenever she was happy. Such a strange feeling, but I was certainly partial to this new feeling. It also made me wonder that if she got so happy over someone finally being able to understand her name, how she dealt with other wolves at all? Wolves that didn't have the mental capabilities to understand. How much of an outcast they must make her feel like, simply for being mute. Luckily, I was not those wolves, and with this bond, I would understand her no matter the boundaries.

It filled me with an odd sense of satisfaction to watch her mouth my name back to me. But it did not linger long as she motioned for me to join her over the border and in the pack lands of Taviora. I am hesitant at first, but I trust her, following her back to her kill. And then she stopped and looked at me, a sadness in her eyes as she mouthed 'what do you need.' Did she want me to stay? I mean I could, I didn't have any particular need or desire to leave. In fact this new fond imprint bond made me want to stay with her. I shrugged my shoulders, "Nothing, I was just walking by when I heard you chasing after the fawn. I hope you don't mind me hanging around for a little bit." I was the definition of awkward when it came to interaction like this. Which made me glad for my stoney face, which hid my flustered mind.

THE FOREST RANKS

THE GRAVEKEEPER

The Alpha Male of Taviora. He will accept all challenges and block any steals. He has taken an oath to protect all within the forest, alive and dead.

THE KEEPER OF SECRETS

This will be Moonshade's chosen co-alpha. They will also be able to accept challanges and steals in order to defend Taviora.

THE KEEPER OF TRUTHS

This rank will belong to the chosen heir of Taviora. This wolf will probably share Moonshade's blood. This rank can be challenged for if you believe that you are a better candidate for the job.

THE FOREST COUNCIL

Although the Alpha's have the final say in all matters, Taviora is still a pack, we are still a community. These wolves are the most senior members of our ranks. Their role is to guide, serve and protect. All of them have earned their place here and they should be respected at all times. Every position on the council can be challanged for by a subordinate pack member. However the council has the right to block a pack member from gaining the position if they have concluded that the individual has placed their own selfish desires before the best interest of the pack as a whole.

THE TUSKS

The packs lead fighter. One of the strongest and bravest in our ranks. They will answer the call to protect the forest if either of the Alpha's are absent.

THE JAWS

The packs head of defence. They are our chief hunter and guardian to all within the forest borders. They know every inch of Taviora and every wolf within.

THE HORNS

The packs most senior teacher. They are responsible for teaching and guiding all of our young and new members so that they will reach their full potential.

THE EYES

The packs trusted informant. This wolf spends a lot of their time outside the forest borders, keeping their eyes, ears and nose peeled for news or potential trouble. Due to the secretive and dangerous nature of this rank, only a wolf that the pack can trust with their lives will obtain this responsibility.

THE DARKDWELLER

This is Taviora’s Head Healer. This wolf is responsible for treating the pack's wounds, injuries and illnesses. They are also expected to be one of the first on scene when a mother goes into labour. Along with their counterpart, The Soothsayer, they will train future healers for the service of our pack and our allies.

THE SOOTHSAYER

This is Taviora’s Head Counselor. Their knowledge of healing and herbal remedies are equal to that of their counterpart, The Darkdweller. This wolf specializes in helping us conquer the unseen demons in our heads and our hearts. They are also expected to help bring all children of the forest safely into this world.

NIGHTWATCHERS

Our trusted packmates that guard the borders while the rest of us sleep safely in our dens. If something is amiss within our lands, they should be the first to intercept any threat and call for back up when needed. Some might not call themselves soldiers, but they will spill blood if push comes to shove.

DAWNSTRIDERS

The most diligent and selfless of our pack. They are up at first light and leave our inner sanctum every few days in search of prey. They hunt far and wide in order to make sure none of us go hungry. While not out hunting, they are free to relax or assist the Nightwatchers, Daylightres or Dawnstriders with their tasks.

DAYLIGHTERS

This group will make up the bulk of our pack, they are our beloved family. They are generalists and commoners who are charged with looking after the most central and sacred parts of our home. Along with The Horns, they are expected to watch out for our children. We are happy to keep all within our ranks that love and respect the forest of Taviora.

DUSKWALKERS

Rumoured to be the most free spirited and independent members of our pack, they guard when no other eyes are available. They wander down all the winding dirt paths and have been known to explore into the freelands. They are envoys and ambassadors who assist The Eyes with their duty of keeping us all safe.

ANCIENT PINES

These wolves are older and have retired from active service. We thank them for all that they have done for our pack, however long or short their tenor was. They shall live out the rest of their years with the best food, shelter and company we can offer them.

THE BRIAR PATCH

This is the name for Taviora’s nursing mothers and their litters of puppies. Once they are born, at least one parent is expected to temporarily step down from their role in order to raise their pups for the first 6 months of their lives. An exemption can be made if another mother is willing to look after the young while the parents resume their service to the pack.

THE SAPLINGS

Too big for the briar patch but not yet old enough to be called a daylighter. These are all puppies between the age of 1 and 3. Pups can start their training from 2 and above if The Horns has found a suitable Mentor for them.

THE WELCOMED

These wolves are welcome within our borders anytime of the day or night. Blocking their access will be met with disapproval and possible punishment.

THE BANISHED

They are enemies of our pack and their presence will not be tolerated within or near our home. Those caught in contact with a wolf on this list will likely share the same fate.

THE SACRED TOMBS

Our brothers and sisters that have sadly left us for their next adventures. We give thanks for their lives and we send them on with all our love, hopes and dreams. Moonshade will accept the bones of any wolf that has ever called Taviora their home and will find them a special place within our hallowed grounds. Every burial mound is individual and sacred. Tampering or messing with one will not be tolerated. A crime against the dead will be treated as though it has been committed against a living pack member.

Remember, we are always watching from the shadows ...
