Joyfully she looks down on her daughter, she was hers. Cae would take care of her daughter on her own, she was strong enough to keep her from harm. She would find a home for both of them, somewhere safe, but it would have to wait until the filly was strong enough to swim. Her crystal blue eyes watch Zaida as she figures out how to move her spindly legs. She figures out walking easily, and makes her way towards her first meal. She smiles and pushes the filly encouragingly, she would need the nutrients to grow stronger. She nudges her hindquarters lovingly. As she drinks her fill, Cae closely watches her as she ventures off to explore the nearby bushes. She does not wander far before she is trotting back to her side. A huff of relief escapes her pink nostrils. Smart girl.
The sound of hooves and breaking branches, draws her attention away from Zaida, for a split second. She takes a step towards the sound, she pushes herself between Zaida and who ever approaches. Her ears disappear into her tresses for a brief moment, until Dixon steps from the foilage. She does not move as he comes closer. She can not help but let the feelings of relief flood her. Then her smile begins to spread across her face. The feelings of hurt and loneliness melt from her, he had come. He had found her out, after all of this time. He does not look her in the eye, as he speaks her name.
"Dixon." Her voice low, it quivers slightly. She can feel the lump developing in her throat, she swallows hard. "This is Zaida, isn't she beautiful?" She asks, as she takes a step forward. She can not ignore the tug that draws her to him. How could she be angry with him? She just wants his approval, that out of this darkness there was a light. "Dixon, you came for us?" She questions, her crystal blue eyes search for his. She wills him to look at her, even if it is for just a brief moment. She wants him to be here. He has changed everything that she knows.
