Fingers Laced To Crown[Braylen]

Rufina
are you strong enough to stand;

The princess was feeling lonely. Her mother was busy with her new brother and daddy seemed to be extra busy with the rest of the mares of the prairie and her half siblings. Being older than the foals left her at a disadvantage. Sicily told her she couldn't play with any of the foals till they grew stronger and could handle her roughness. Ru huffed at her mother, stalking away to find something to do, which was hard when there was no one of her age to play with. Valentine had sent Sham away, and it was clear to Ru that her friend Braylen no longer resided in the forest. How boring. Though as the filly continued to walk the land she found herself pacing along the shore, a place her mother had told her to avoid. What was so bad about it anyway? Stopping, she eyes the far away shapes of the other islands, and then looks over her shoulder to see if anyone had followed. Maybe she could get away with another escape. Not wasting another minute she plunges into the surf with a gleeful laugh escaping her.

After a while Rufina climbs up the sandy beach of what she hopes was the crossing island. There was a well worn path leading into the trees and Ru was quick to follow it, not at all concerned of her still soaked body as she pranced along. She held her head high, nostrils flaring as she took in all the new scents around her. The trees were like the forest, but as she continued on they began to thin out, bringing her into a clearing where water crashed down into a pool of water. Ru stopped at the sight of the falls, her jaw dropping open for a second before she regains her cool composure. She moves forward again with a small smile on her pale lips. There was barely anyone here, and Rufina was thankful for that for now. She didn't need someone creeping on her already.

Standing on the bank, she leans down to take a long refreshing drink of the cool water before pulling back and looking at her reflection. She couldn't believe she had actually left the prairie to come here, but as she looks up at the falls again she knows its worth all the trouble she was sure to get into should she return.
