Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

i have never been
nothing

Cool water washed down my throat, parching my thirst and invigorating my body as the refreshing liquid sent a pleasant chill down my spine. As I lapped at the river my ears relaxed to the sides, and I was the picture of comfort in my surroundings. But I was always listening to the movements of the shewolf who stood further downstream from me. Above the sounds of water rushing over rock and riverbed, I heard only the slightest of shifting from the snow colored girl before she too partook of the water once more. Only when I had sated my thirst did I lift my head and turn away from the river, pausing for a moment to brace my legs and shake my bodice in the wholehearted fashion which canines often did. My silvered fur whisked back and forth with the motion, parting to reveal the stark black fur of my undercoat, until the action reached my tail in a whipping fashion and then ceased.

Mahogany eyes lifted then to meet those of cerulean blue as they stare back at me. A smile slips between my lips, lifting a single corner in an almost amused grin. I was feeling quite light hearted, and even though when first I had laid eyes upon her I felt as though my stomach would drop from my abdomen, I now let her presence lift my heart instead. Her melodious tones lifted in greeting, and my tail lifted slightly before waving back and forth to show my friendliness. My body language spoke of my natural tendency towards dominance – I was born for the role I had come to play upon the mountain. Even so, I was far from overbearing, my disposition balancing out the raw sovereign presence I possessed. Alpha blood flowed through my veins, but I had honed it and become a wolf my parents would be proud of, one that my pack felt they could lay their trust in and approach in regards to any matter.

As she took a few cautious steps forward, her head lowering slightly with the motion, I mirrored her movement. Lean legs of ashen hue pulled me closer to her, diminishing the gap I had initially left between us to a mere five or so feet. My banner continuously waved back and forth, a slow and methodic pattern. Luxe, she introduced herself as. I dipped my crown in acknowledgement and said, “Good morning, Luxe; I am Daenerys.” Gauging her slightly reserved mannerisms, I refrained from flooding her ears with the formal introductions I adopted in the presence of those who required such fashions.

Behind me my tail swished once more before my hindquarters fell to the earth, my banner coming to rest wrapped around my posterior, the tip nestled in the grass at my forepaws. It was a sign of good faith, to sit in the presence of a stranger, and I only wished to foster the pleasant nature of the encounter between myself and Luxe. “Are you new to Moladion, Luxe?” Perhaps it was the simplest of ice breakers between two acquaintances, but I found myself enjoying the effortlessness of our interaction thus far, and saw no need to complicate it straight off the bat.
