Announcements as of July 28, 2021

I have called you, and you have answered my call --

Do not mistake my silence for weakness, my forest kin. For I am willing to defend you with my fangs and claws, until the days come when am no longer able to. Keep an eye on the borders for Zelda and her sister Midna, because I will welcome them back into the flock on the day of their return.

The flood has left our forest home in a sorry state of disarray. I shall not tolerate this. Summer is here and we must rebuild our dens in time for winter. There is a lot of hard and dirty work ahead of us. But we shall face it together, as family, as a pack. Let's get back to work and then we shall hunt. I hunger for a feast.

From your new Alpha --

Moonshade, the Gravekeeper of Moladion

Return to Lunar Children
take me back to days long past
IP: 97.121.218.237

Aithne's posture is one most dominant, but I do not find it at all intimidating. She is not here to intimidate, and neither am I. Here for Siren she was, and here I was to answer any questions honestly and thoroughly. I almost feel as if when Siren had first come to us dragging Romain's corpse, one of us should have gone to Iromar to speak with.. well, whomever. But then Andras had still been their Lord, and to be the one to bring news of such things.. Coszcotl would have never allowed any wolf but himself to be the bearer. And even the thought of that is enough to bring on a shudder. Those times are past, though, and we are here and we are now; Aithne is a wolf most just and wise, reminiscent of Father to me. There is surprise on her features when it is that I mention Siren, giving me to tilt my slender and feminine skull to the side in my own curiosity. My words must be news to her, then, and I consider this as she speaks.

Blunt and straight forward she is, and with what little she says I still find myself liking this Aithne. I am not given too much time to contemplate such things, for it is at the very end of her sentence where a 'tell me' would be that Siren instead seems to appear between us out of thin air. I watch her closely, nonplussed by the way she snuck up on us and her basic demeanor. Since coming to Taviora, she has been a wolf most elusive, preferring the singular company of Solaris above any other. Often times I have felt her, when I visit my brothers grave in the wood where Father buried him with the help of that same Solaris. I feel her in the shadows, stalking and watching; not as a predator but a silent, stealthy and small guardian. It, and she has often brought a ghost of a smile to my lips, even if I do not show it these moments. Instead I am intent on Siren, for I would not have her move to harm Aithne. Aithne, I knew, would not move to harm Siren.

I knew the look of care and love felt toward pack, toward what was family. It did not matter that Siren was not my blood, just the way it did not matter she was not blood to Aithne. There was love there, and care all the same, and I respected this greatly. I stay silent as I watch the interactions, more than ready to step in and intervene as needed but for the time being content to observe. The leader of Iromar speaks first with her body, and then with her words. As she lowers her large frame down to the forest floor that blankets our home, I am quite aware of our surroundings for I will not have another sneak up on us now. It is one thing for Siren to slip by me unnoticed, but another all together for a wolf not of Taviora or a wolf intending ill will. I do not know how the young dark wolf will react, but I can only hope it will be well, even as she places herself so protectively in front of me. It is most endearing, and I feel my heart swell for the girl in front of me. None of my own sisters remain, but from the day she had come to us from the swamps I had thought of her as very much family.

Aithne says her words, and I find my head nodding in agreement with her. And as she finishes, I use my height on Siren to my advantage. It is easy to slip around her for I am mostly all legs, though I do not place myself between them. I am more so off to the side, so that they both can see me and I can see the both of them. Pointedly I look at Siren- reassurance and a calmness there in me before beginning my speaking to Aithne, eventually turning my dark violet gaze to follow suit. "She came to us the same night my brother, Roamin, was murdered in Iromar." At my brief pause I am now looking at Aithne, no anger present in my gaze or expression, but calmness I find when I speak of him. "They were bound young, and my little brother was a care free and kind soul. You can see where Lillth would have come in then, I would think." If Aithne has spent any amount of time around the previous leader of the swamps, she must have known something of his mate. But I do not plan to leave much to her imagination, beside the obvious. "When Lillith killed Roamin, Siren did her best to save him. When she could not, she brought him home to our Medicine Wolf, my Father, and here in the forest he was buried." I had to stop there, for I felt my voice as a thick emotion caught heavily in my throat.

It was just as Father had told me of it, as he had learned himself the night Siren had come. I am only just now aware of the tears wetting my cheeks as they run down my face, but I am not ashamed of them and I do not move to brush them away. Instead, I continue my watchfulness of the both of them as well as the forest that surrounds us. Siren I hope has heard my words and understood my explanation to Aithne, and I hope that somehow we may reach her and calm her in these moments.

THE FOREST RANKS

THE GRAVEKEEPER

The Alpha Male of Taviora. He will accept all challenges and block any steals. He has taken an oath to protect all within the forest, alive and dead.

THE KEEPER OF SECRETS

This will be Moonshade's chosen co-alpha. They will also be able to accept challanges and steals in order to defend Taviora.

THE KEEPER OF TRUTHS

This rank will belong to the chosen heir of Taviora. This wolf will probably share Moonshade's blood. This rank can be challenged for if you believe that you are a better candidate for the job.

THE FOREST COUNCIL

Although the Alpha's have the final say in all matters, Taviora is still a pack, we are still a community. These wolves are the most senior members of our ranks. Their role is to guide, serve and protect. All of them have earned their place here and they should be respected at all times. Every position on the council can be challanged for by a subordinate pack member. However the council has the right to block a pack member from gaining the position if they have concluded that the individual has placed their own selfish desires before the best interest of the pack as a whole.

THE TUSKS

The packs lead fighter. One of the strongest and bravest in our ranks. They will answer the call to protect the forest if either of the Alpha's are absent.

THE JAWS

The packs head of defence. They are our chief hunter and guardian to all within the forest borders. They know every inch of Taviora and every wolf within.

THE HORNS

The packs most senior teacher. They are responsible for teaching and guiding all of our young and new members so that they will reach their full potential.

THE EYES

The packs trusted informant. This wolf spends a lot of their time outside the forest borders, keeping their eyes, ears and nose peeled for news or potential trouble. Due to the secretive and dangerous nature of this rank, only a wolf that the pack can trust with their lives will obtain this responsibility.

THE DARKDWELLER

This is Taviora’s Head Healer. This wolf is responsible for treating the pack's wounds, injuries and illnesses. They are also expected to be one of the first on scene when a mother goes into labour. Along with their counterpart, The Soothsayer, they will train future healers for the service of our pack and our allies.

THE SOOTHSAYER

This is Taviora’s Head Counselor. Their knowledge of healing and herbal remedies are equal to that of their counterpart, The Darkdweller. This wolf specializes in helping us conquer the unseen demons in our heads and our hearts. They are also expected to help bring all children of the forest safely into this world.

NIGHTWATCHERS

Our trusted packmates that guard the borders while the rest of us sleep safely in our dens. If something is amiss within our lands, they should be the first to intercept any threat and call for back up when needed. Some might not call themselves soldiers, but they will spill blood if push comes to shove.

DAWNSTRIDERS

The most diligent and selfless of our pack. They are up at first light and leave our inner sanctum every few days in search of prey. They hunt far and wide in order to make sure none of us go hungry. While not out hunting, they are free to relax or assist the Nightwatchers, Daylightres or Dawnstriders with their tasks.

DAYLIGHTERS

This group will make up the bulk of our pack, they are our beloved family. They are generalists and commoners who are charged with looking after the most central and sacred parts of our home. Along with The Horns, they are expected to watch out for our children. We are happy to keep all within our ranks that love and respect the forest of Taviora.

DUSKWALKERS

Rumoured to be the most free spirited and independent members of our pack, they guard when no other eyes are available. They wander down all the winding dirt paths and have been known to explore into the freelands. They are envoys and ambassadors who assist The Eyes with their duty of keeping us all safe.

ANCIENT PINES

These wolves are older and have retired from active service. We thank them for all that they have done for our pack, however long or short their tenor was. They shall live out the rest of their years with the best food, shelter and company we can offer them.

THE BRIAR PATCH

This is the name for Taviora’s nursing mothers and their litters of puppies. Once they are born, at least one parent is expected to temporarily step down from their role in order to raise their pups for the first 6 months of their lives. An exemption can be made if another mother is willing to look after the young while the parents resume their service to the pack.

THE SAPLINGS

Too big for the briar patch but not yet old enough to be called a daylighter. These are all puppies between the age of 1 and 3. Pups can start their training from 2 and above if The Horns has found a suitable Mentor for them.

THE WELCOMED

These wolves are welcome within our borders anytime of the day or night. Blocking their access will be met with disapproval and possible punishment.

THE BANISHED

They are enemies of our pack and their presence will not be tolerated within or near our home. Those caught in contact with a wolf on this list will likely share the same fate.

THE SACRED TOMBS

Our brothers and sisters that have sadly left us for their next adventures. We give thanks for their lives and we send them on with all our love, hopes and dreams. Moonshade will accept the bones of any wolf that has ever called Taviora their home and will find them a special place within our hallowed grounds. Every burial mound is individual and sacred. Tampering or messing with one will not be tolerated. A crime against the dead will be treated as though it has been committed against a living pack member.

Remember, we are always watching from the shadows ...
