The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

now the dark is taking over
show me where forever dies
The light of dawn seemed to filter into their makeshift den that lay close to the Spirane borders, orange eyes watching as the light and shadows seemed to dance among the entrance. The warmth at her sides leaving her wrapped up in the four little bodies of her growing children and Reich at her other. The peace in this moment has been hard to come by, but perhaps she is finally there. The recent reunion with Jericho weighs heavily on her mind but the desire to just stay in this moment surrounded by those she cared for surpasses her distaste for her brother. A subtle shift of her body has the little pile of bodies to stir and it is not long that orange eyes meet green as a soft smile is given to her littlest one, as a rasped greeting leaves her lips. The smile that is returned causes her heart to swell, to see that upon Semele once more after all that happened was a blessing. She had took the death of her father worst of all but it seemed with time that perhaps her gentle daughter was finally coming to terms with the change. Reich presence had at first been confusing to the children, more so to Semele than the others. It could be seen in the slow way she attached herself to him - whether that was with the recent loss of Ifrit or if she felt that she was trying to replace her father, but Semele eventually had come to accept him. Perhaps what was to come would also be accepted by her children.

Orange eyes shift secretly before returning to Semele, her daughter not missing the gleam had leaned forward, the swift wagging of her tail as her own eyes glance about before returning. "You want to help mommy?" Her rasped voice whispers, a wide smile taking her lips at the enthusiastic nod that has her little head bobbing. For a moment she is lost in the sight of her, admiring the blood red that adorns her body. Glancing down upon the rest of her children. From Camilla, Vladimir, Panzer, and Semele each in some way holding onto a piece of their father, Vladimir being the spitting image of his father. She would probably always miss her red giant, he completed her in ways no one else ever could but he was gone, the anger she felt at his absence had died down. Remembering their time together which seemed filled with blood, the same color that accompanied two of her children. They were a piece of him she would cherish forever. As a soft and sad smile turns her lips looking back her her littlest one. "Mommy wants to play a game with Reich.." She pauses looking over at the slumbering form of her soul, eyes softening at the sight before turning back. "Mommy's going to go hide, will you wake up Reich? Tell him to come find mommy?" Before the last word is out, her face is attacked by a little tongue. The kisses from her daughter cause a rasped laugh to bubble out and she playfully bats at the small form of her daughter, nipping gently at her ears before an excited yes escapes a giggling Semele. A warm smile taking her lips as she carefully stands up, looking down at her daughter as a playful gleam shines in her eyes. An insistent nudge at her legs causes another hushed laugh to escape, watching as Semele attempted her best to push her mother out. The push is not enough to budge her paw but that does stop her from pretending to fall forward at the strength of her daughter, looking back from the entrance at the proud and loving look Semele was giving her in return, before she disappears from sight. Ears flickering back to hear the soothing voice of her daughter as she began to wake Reich, it was enough motivation to get her feet moving faster. Until she is running, one destination in mind hoping she could put enough distance between them before he arrived.

The steady thrum of her paws against the chilled earth is calming, it had been so long since she had last ran. The birth of her children had taken a strong toll on her body and the healing had been slow with the setback of Ifrit's death but for the first time in almost a year she feels strong once more. As she hurries, it is then her mind begins to think of the reason she was doing this. Reich. She remembers when she met him, the pull to him was something that was unknown and yet familiar. Since their first meeting, fate seemed intent to pull them together. When she had met Ifrit and chose him as a mate it had been hard to watch him hurt, to see the pain she had caused him and then he had disappeared. She had never felt so lost in her entire life than then, pregnant with Ifrit's children her heart had mourned the loss of him. When he finally returned not long after their birth, it was as if her world had righted itself despite her pain. From being surrounded by her children and Reich it felt like home. He had been there when Ifrit died, he had cared for her after. With all their ups and downs they had somehow made it despite their differences. And it was the past few months her feelings for him had become clear and she would not allow any more time to pass without making them clear.

The rush of air into her lungs is freeing, yet orange eyes are fixed on what lay ahead. A brief glance behind her to see if he had figured out just where it was she would be be. With each step the distance closes until she enters at a fast walk, her nails scraping against the rock as the familiarity of the grotto is breathed in. It had been so log since she had last been here, the rush of memories swarms her, as her eyes search the darkness. A warm smile on her lips as the steady sound of her rasped breathing keeps the silence at bay. This is new to her, the desire to create something special through her actions rather than something harmful. Her life had not been easy before this, the pain and wounds she has of that time still living in her but it is dulled by the sense of completion she feels with Reich and her children. So what better way to tell someone she cares for them than the same place they had met and fate pulled them together. Orange eyes glance at the entrance before she is quick to ascend the rocky steps that end in a ledge. Lowering her plush body upon it, her head falling to lay upon her forelegs, allowing orange eyes easy access to see any who entered the rocky caverns, much like she had found him that day. As her lungs heave for a steadying breath, wondering how long it would be until he arrived and hoping that what was to come would be the start of a fantasy she never thought she would have. A slight tremble to her body, nervous and excited all at once knowing it would all fall away at the sight of him, until all she felt was complete.
