Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

As I fell to the Ocean floor
Fading light through an open door
Saw myself rise with the water

When the fight broke out over his home land the slante colored boy wasn’t sure what to do with himself. Stay? Go? As the war cries broke out he moved out of the borders and began to explore. He didn’t know Tesseract, he didn’t have a particular love and his Mother being the hand certainly didn’t have anything to do with him liking his home either. But what was wrong was now was his chance. His family was scattering and he wasn’t sure about where to go. Where would his Mom go verus his mother versus his two sisters? Alcmene’s scent was close to Glorall’s borders still meaning she was still there, but Mana’s, Mom’s, and Mother’s? He wasn’t sure where they had gone and thus the mystery of where he should go came into the picture.

He has spent some time at Spirane where his father lived and liked it there, his Mom was the Dark Assassin of Diveen and Mother… well She was a Demon so Iromar? Was that his destination? Or his long term home that was Glorall surely things hadn’t changed too much if Alcmene was willing to stay there right? But there was also Spriane and all the other packs that he hadn’t seen. He wasn’t sure where to go and what to pick but did he need to pick? Loner life could work for him, he could continue wandering around and not rely on anyone and have no boss.

The thought was appealing he had to admit. He was almost three now and he was plenty large enough to fend for himself, and larger than some adult wolves in some cases. His mom said it was from his father’s side that there were several large wolves, so he wondered just how big he would get, but really he didn’t need help from anyone. Mother made sure he could take care of himself when he was younger and he was proving well so far. His silver-blue pelt was shiny and luxerous quite capable of keeping him warm in the cold, his eyes bright and there was no sign of illness. Loner life? Was that the answer?

He moved along the river watching it’s flow of water and eyes moving towards the mountain that was its source before falling back to the slight rapids. It was far too cold for a swim, snow packed all around him and parts of the river even were froze. Winter was the time adults were crazy, Mother said, especially normal females, not ones like Mom and Mother of course. He had an idea of what went on, puppy making of course. Something about wrestling and biting and beating the other or something like that. He knew his moms couldn’t make pups together so they needed his dad though he didn’t know why. Well he supposed he would find out in due time but not this season and not the next either. Today he was just enjoying an innocent walk along the river and thinking about life and how complicated and stupid it was at times. Just like his Mothers taught him.

They thought they could keep me down,
Hold their breath and watch me drown,
but all they did has pushed me higher.
