Riot would collect information for the simple sake of collecting it, of having it and being able to know more. Didn't matter what it was and if it seemingly wouldn't hold his interest; he would still want to know. Still crave to soak it all up, because this was the kind of creature he was. He thrived off of knowledge of any sort, and he felt that the more he knew, the better prepared he was for many different things. That was something he wanted; to be well prepared for all that came his way. To be better in a pack, to be of some use and live up to standards and go above and beyond them. He held some high goals, yes. But he knew to be anything and anyone here, that was precisely the kind of thing he needed to do. Once he had made a name for himself, then he could focus on any other aspects of his life that he was setting aside now. First and foremost, Riot wanted to be set in his career -- a good rank -- and be comfortable amoung those he lived with. Something he'd work on once he joined a place.
When the time came and he finally found the pack he would fit best in, Riot would be more than happy to share what he had learned of the other packs with his new alpha and so forth. That was the way he worked, and it was a spot he wanted to reach for. Something where he could gather information and bring it back for the good of the rest of the pack. Just as long as it wasn't any type of calumny. If, of course, he could decifer it enough to know either way. He would do whatever else was needed, of course, but for the seeking of knowledge, Riot would go far and out of his way for it. He would keep at it until he had enough of what he needed (just like he was doing now to find himself a pack, taking even as many as three trips to gather the information). He would take more if he felt it was needed but he did not. So far he thought he knew enough to keep his options limited, and even Taviora was off the list now, despite Pan's words of the pack as being a good one. They had some strange beliefs, and the ranks were all filled as to what he would go for, and the way of those members being spoke of.. it sounded like newer wolves might not be given a great chance.
Riot had much to think on, but when it came down to it, he knows there were only two packs still standing in his eyes. So he had to simply finish up with his questions to both and go from there. So far so good, he supposed. But he had to know a little more about alpha Daenerys, and he could be on his way again to assess all that he knew. He needed to know what kind of character that she had, how she ruled and with what kind of mindset. It was not a bad curiousity to have, because it could also tell someone just who they would be working under, and if personalities would clash or work only to help each other reach higher and do better at the jobs they had. Riot knew that questions would be sent back at him in time if she was a good leader (some did let others join without asking much at all, sadly, and that had chances of going so very wrong for them all in that situation), and he was fine with answering it all as honestly as was possible. Some things he might not know, and he would say as much if that were true.
He listens carefully to what is said in answer to his first question, and she even gives why she chose the answers as she did. A good thing, and more than he had expected to be said. All of this is stored away within the confines of Riot's mind, but he was pondering them now as she spoke her answers. He was attentive, taking into account her reasonings behind the answers. He did not see any fault in what she was saying so far, and that was aspiring as to this pack being favoritable. Then Daenerys was answering the second one, and he smiles faintly at her response. It isn't a bad one, and again she pulls it apart for him to understand the deeper meanings behind her choice. So far, Riot could see nothing wrong in the answers given and the personality that was shining through. He did not interrupt though, did not say a word to her of all this, because he would patiently wait until she was done with all of her answers. He had given her a bit of a list, after all.
Riot regards her calmly on the words of procreation rules, and the example of a time when there had been an untrustworthy mate taken and the pack wolf had left due to stipluations. Riot had no concerns on this matter, for he supposed that if he were to take a proper mate and breed, it would be within the pack, and said mate would be a member. Which was limiting in a way, but if he ever go to that point with a female -- and that was a big if -- then he would certainly make sure she was or would join the pack he was in. That would cause less trouble all around, he suspected. That, and he would never wish for his offspring to feel abandoned in the way that he had been. That would never do, and for that reason, Riot was not interested in such things. Perhaps in time he would be more warm to the idea, but he wasn't going to give ground in how he felt over the needs that had to be first done. It would be done right or it would not be done at all. There could be no other way for him to feel comfortable on the matter.
The alpha was saying more, and Riot focused on that, listening as to the dealings of traitors and what would make them so. The idea of a small council was a good one, he had to admit, and he liked that it was done in such a way. Yes, he was more and more interested in Spirane the more he knew of it and it's leader. That, and they held alliances with all the packs until the leadership changes. Riot has to wonder what that might limit, but for now with the changes it might not be as bad, or maybe it was best this way; to have that kind of peace. It made him thoughtful, but again he does not comment on any of it. It was her turn to ask of him any questions lingering on her mind, and Riot awaits that with thoughtful eyes. Finally, she asks his own question back at him and he smiles. There were more and he holds his tongue for them to be spoken, and he sees why she has asked them, and it was good and right of her to do so. It was in her best interested to know what she would also be getting into if he joined the pack.
And so he wastes no time in answering once her questions had been posed to him; "It is my belief that knowledge is power, and if seen in that light, then power first because I want to learn all that I can. Power as pertains to leadership is not my intention, however. Loyalty, Respect, Family, Glory, Friendship then Love. Love is not high on my list of priorities, nor is procreation. First I want to make something of myself, and there is no point in rushing into any commitment." Easy enough, and honest. Then onto skills that might benefit the pack. "As you can tell, I like to collect information. Anything can be worth knowing, and it is a passion of mine. I would do well in a rank having to do with the gathering of it, but I can also hunt well. Otherwise, as a loner I wouldn't have made it this far. My tracking skills can be helpful, and I think I could be valued in interrogation practices. I can patrol and greet those who come to the borders, and I think I could become efficient in the transfer of information doing so." And then the last part that she had asked. "I answered that last question when we met. As far as my own actions go, no, I do not. If I ever find out there are problems tied to my bloodline, I would make sure you knew of it promptly." And there it was, the questions and answers.
