The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

For all his shortcomings, all the things he lacks that she deserved, Mockingbird does not want her to go. He wants her to stay, wants to be able to make her happy regardless of his faults. He would work harder because of what he lacked, do what he could where he could to make her happy. And he supposes that there were good things from his absence of her, because she did have a family already, and that made it less painful to think that he could not give her more. There were both good things and bad from how life had worked out thus far when it came to the imprinting, but Mockingbird only wanted to focus on the good and leave the past behind him. He had his Dove and that was what mattered. They did not have to be alone anymore, and he knew that was something they both had been wanting; companionship. To not have to be alone anymore. It was strange that they had both come to this conclusion in life as it all had happened, but perhaps fate had done it all on purpose.

Maybe it was the pull of her need that had brought him back, because it made more sense that way. All the different feelings these past months had all come to this, to being here and feeling these things and consenquently, for being the right kind of match for his imprint. To want to be what she needed, to feel it all the way to the depths of who he was. It clicks somehow to think it was all for her, to have gone through everything for her sake, to mold better to what she needed. Or maybe he was feeding off of what she was feeling, but either way it seemed true enough to think that way, to give all those horrible things meaning at long last. There was something freeing and wonderful about giving everything meaning, to know that it all mattered somehow, all made a difference and made him a better match than he might have been otherwise. This was what he was made for, this was why he had to go thorugh it all, and it was worth it. Mockingbird felt that he could walk through fire for his Dove.

He notes as he walks along, as his mind wanders to the way in which her hips sway, that she knew what he was thinking. Of course she did; the altered feelings were probably as obvious as a red neon sign about his head. He isn't sorry for it, however. Mockingbird also wasn't trying to make any advances, either. Just appreciating the view and unable to keep his thoughts as civil as he would have kept his tongue about such matters. He blinked when she spoke to him, pulling his ears down at what she was saying. "I wasn't trying to distract you." It's nearly apologetic, but only for the fact that she might get lost for it, not because he felt that way. Though he was warmed by the fact that she wasn't disdainful that he thought of her that way, considering his... issue. There were some feelings coming through that were a little iffy, but Mockingbird didn't let that get to him, because he was too thrilled with how lucky he was right now, with what he did have, to have any further doubts on anything.
