The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

BLOOD never lies

Anselm stares at me for the longest time and in this moment, I wish for a peek into his twisted mind. I wonder what he may be thinking when he looks at the scene before him. Even as I tell him what must be done, I wait for his response before moving because I know Anselm is not the type to be commanded. He may not think of us as equals but I still think he's better as an ally than an enemy. He is connected to my sister and even though she has chosen another to hold her heart, Anselm is her soul and since I have the same blood in my veins, I know I risk a lot by trusting that he'll help me. I don't think Anselm is the type to have friends so I will not think of him as one. Instead, he is an ally, someone who can choose to help me if it is in my favor. Also, he's now a keeper of my secret.

I never asked if he wants to keep his own deeds in secret or not. Maybe he doesn't care if others know. I know he never cared about not making a mess. He seemed to thrive on the blood. I do too but in a different way. I just know that no one can know of what happened tonight. No one can know I was involved. No one can bring the news to my father and mother that I am a monster. As he steps over to Seir's body, I watch, tilting my head a little in curiosity. His head is high, his shoulders forward adn I flick my own ears back, ready to listen as always. My shoulders are neutral, my head lower than his, my posture dictating me as ready to follow, if only for my own survival.

His words give me hope, my head nodding in acknowledgement as he goes to grab the back of Seir's neck. He lifts his half of the body and I move instantly at the look he gives me, obviously wanting me to hold up the back end as well. He right, lifting the body to carry it would cause less signs than dragging. As for the blood....I move to the back of his body, using my paws to sweep dirt over the blood that has already pooled there. As I reach down and latch onto the meaty flanks of Seir, I bring my tail to the ground, sweeping it across the surface to pile dirt over any remaining drops. I glance at Anselm, blinking to let him know I'm ready to follow.
