This meeting would not be like the others. I was well aware of that, and prepared for whoever might come to exchange words with me. My ears flicked at the sound of an answer, an almost eerie howl that informed me that I should wait where I was and she would come to me. I rolled my shoulders, content to wait outside the pack lands to be joined here. As my shoulders shifted, I recalled the injury that had taken over a month to heal. A matching set of deep puncture wounds, delivered unto me by a demon whose name I never cared to learn. After the war I had never smelled his scent around Moladion again, and good riddance to that. Placed as it was, I could not see the scar that ensured no hair would ever grow there again. But my dark brown pelt fell over the marks, disguising them well enough. The war was history, something that had been put in the past when Ishtar’s reign had ended. Through Andras’s reign Isola had achieved some semblance of peace, a treaty that held through to the now - Aithne’s rule. The tides of change had come, and the threat of ‘demons’ had waned. There were still those who roamed Moladion who carried the bloodline, but the feud between Diveen and Iromar seemed something that constantly faded. It was my hope that I could gain some knowledge or insight today that might further help abate such a thing.

It was a young wolf that approached me, so close to maturity I could not discern her age, and she bore the trademark colors of those wolves who had once raged against my homeland so fiercely. But times were different now, and I knew that a wolf of black and red no longer necessarily toted the label of demon. She was curteous and I returned her greeting in kind, a solemn nod of my head given as she lowered her hindquarters to the snowy earth. As a show of respect I mimicked her posture, allowing my obsidian legs to fold beneath me, sitting opposite to her. “Good day, Raven. I am Maddox the Guardian Angel, and I have come to Iromar upon the behest of my Queen as I work towards filling the void of Advisor that was left when Yojimbo came to live within these lands.” It was a simple statement, made to fully disclose my reasoning for coming here. I paused for but a moment before I revealed what it was that I wished to achieve here this day. “The Advisor of Diveen is as much responsible for foreign affairs as I would assume The Consul is here, and that is why I called upon you. I’ve come to learn more about Iromar and how the pack functions under its new leader, in hopes that a stronger relationship might be forged between Iromar and Diveen in the future.” In the interest of strengthening trust between our packs, I saw no reason to hide anything from Raven. My intentions were laid out for her to consider, and whether the conversation would move forward was now up to her.

There was much and more for me to consider in regards to each pack that I had visited, but it was also my hope that Diveen’s relationship with a mutual ally might help us. If there was a way for me to advise my Queen in regards to all three packs at once, then perhaps I would stand out as Yojimbo once had to them. For as long as I had been a part of Diveen, dating back to only a season after Isola’s rise to power, I had wanted nothing more than to aid her and the pack in any way I could. I’d bettered myself and become Guardian Angel, taking my role as seriously as one could and perhaps stepping beyond the bounds of duty to give her advice on inner pack relations. After today I hoped to return home and prove to her that I was just as capable of advising her on interpack relations.
