Her test had been rather... interesting to say the least. Asteraia called to her in ways she knew were so much like her old home in Litherum but different beasts resided here. Wolves of a nature that is darker than her own - though it did not bother her very much. She found respect for these fellows of a more sinister nature for their lives meant just as much as her own despite their differences. She found it rather fitting that she were to stumble upon them seeing as they were very much lacking in the department of healers and her mother was the finest she had ever known. There was hope that perhaps someday she may be able to be of great importance to the wolves of Asteraia and that was all she could ever want.
Just as it were back in her mother's homelands outside of Moladion, spring was a time most trying for healers of all types and she knew that her skills would be tested even further when she was needed for difficult births. Most mothers fared very well on their own and their natural healing properties worked their magic but some needed more assistance and a good boost before they were to get back to normal life. After all, most of the wolves in Moladion were the biggest she had ever seen and surely puppies of that splendor were not easy to push out.
She had known that the Night Mother, Jaidah, had been away upon her arrival into the pack. As such is why Eric had met with her at the borders instead. But the strong scent of a wolf in labor awoke Rayen from her early slumber upon this night as a wind broke through the plains. She rose from her underground den and peered out into the darkness, the white tips of her ears signaling her location for any that may see her, but the scent of the mother was going away. She jogged from her den into the open fields and searched out the trail that was being left behind, catching the familiar scent of another young pack member along with it. A heavily marked point in the trail told of the mother's rush to a den as the first pup had been birthed in the open.
There was no scent of fear or struggle within the air and so she continued onward down the path, hunting and capturing a small groundhog for the mother in the case that she was ravenous after her labor. With the animal swinging from her bloodied jaws she follows the trail toward a cliff where it thins out and opens into a cavern high over the shoreline. Deep blue and hazel eyes look out upon the wondrous sight for a moment before she cautiously steps forward, the scent of the two others stronger now. The unmistakable growl that fills the air is not missed and although it comes from one who is so much younger in years Rayen is still wary. She does not wish to upset any one during such an occasion. It is now that she realizes that the scent of the female is none other than the alpha whom graces every border of this land. The prey animal is dropped gently upon the dusty earth before she announces herself.
"Night Mother... do you have need for anything?" she speaks softly in question as she peers into the darkness of the den, her tail hung low and ears laid back in a sign of submission toward the daughter and the alpha. If she hungers for the meal then she will bring it to her but she will not step any further.
