aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

The pup at her feet had begun to quiver nervously as soon as her call had rung out, demanding Magic’s presence. She was a strong fae, and Tarly would grow well in her care. He had already matured much since his birth under Shae’s tutelage, but even still he was weak. Not physically, but emotionally. There was much that he feared, and instead of working through it as Nzingha did or ignore it as Accalia did, he let it wash over him and wreck havoc on his insides. The bruteling was weak… but he had a good strong heart. More than that, he was loyal to her and loved her. Once he grew into first a teen and then an adult, he would become trusted in this pack. This would become his home, and he would learn its little intricacies and secrets… and pass them shortly onto her. For she did not lie to him – she would be back to visit him to ensure that their bond did not wan and break. Yes… she also cared for him and wanted to make sure he was healthy and happy… but Tarly was her tool first and foremost. In the life that Shae led, with the wolves she called family because of their blood connection, survival had to always be first and foremost on her mind. Not love.

Her muds shifted downward, focusing upon her pup and watched him flatten into the grass, attempting to hide, repressing the urge to shake in annoyance. Shae closed her eyes, lowering her haunches and allowed the warm rays of the sun – the ones that managed to sneak their way through the dense branches of the fir grove – bask her pelt, heating her bodice. Spring was just hitting this part of Blossom Forest, and the ground beneath her was still hard and frozen, so the sun was a refreshing blanket upon her.

Shae. It is good to see you again. You called me for something? A smiled curled onto her maw, but still she did not open her lids. Instead, her nares flared, taking in Magic’s scent which she had taken upon herself to get accustomed to when they met. But to her surprise there was a scent she did not know… a brute’s. Sharply, she turned down her maw, lids snapping open. This changed everything. Magic, she had talked to. Magic, she knew, would take care of the pup. But this brute? Who had left Magic not once but twice? His track record was less than promising. Shae hated taking chances… but what chance did she have now. Softening her features, she dipped her head to Magic and stepped away from Tarly, noticing how close she had come to crossing the barrier. While Shae was no stickler for the rules and for things as invisible as boundaries, normally it was a brute that she tempted. Her wiles would do nothing to Magic, and she could not risk her wrath.

Hello dear… I have something… or rather someone for you to meet. Your son.
