Can you feel it calling in the air tonight

In the shadows of two of the tallest peaks in the mountain range, rests the land known as the Forbidden Dale. The forested path that winds down out of the mountains is steep and treacherous to those who do not know it's dangers. The mountains meld into rolling foothills - filled with broad gentle slopes, long narrow ridges, and miniature valleys. Vegetation of all sorts is abundant and the runoff of all the surrounding hills funnels into a long, narrow lake in one of the largest valleys. Beyond the undulating and green foothills resides a dark and deep forest; the trees are so dense that it is dim even in the light of day.

Local News

July 10th - Melia and Rhaego are now co-owning the Dale after Melia has successfully defended their home in the Summit.
April 5th - Updated herd list. If you see something wrong or changes to be made, please let me know.
September 8th - The Dale has become a part of Beyond the Mountains. The geographical location has not changed in relation to Mist Meadows, but Rhaego will begin focusing his attentions on these new lands being discovered and less on Mist Meadows. The herd list has been cleared, but I will add back any herd members who rejoin here on Beyond.
July 9th - Updated the board. Rhaego has an open post in the lake for this breeding season for anyone interested. Also welcome Bastille whom will be serving the Dale in return for a home for himself, Larka, and their daughter Valerian. Rhaego is actively working to return Aileen back to the Dale.
December 7th - After unintentionally forfeiting his land about a year ago, Rhaego has gotten him land back! He will be working on re-establishing himself and the herd that he had. There's a little adjusting to do but Rhaego is back and more determined than ever!
July 23rd - ACTIVITY CHECK! Just need to confirm who is in the herd and who is not, as well as the names of any foals born recently. Please respond before August 7th with the names of your characters who live here. Thank ya much!
April 12th - With the warmer months and the growing season, Rhaego is focused on growing the herd and his bloodline. Foals are on the way - but they are not all Rhaego's.... wait, how'd that happen?
January 24th - Rhaego has won the battle by default!
January 13th - The Dale has been challenged for by a mare named, Apache. Rhaego has of course accepted and the battle is taking place now.
November 16th - Rhaego has proclaimed his claim over the territory formerly owned by Reaper. The territory will become known as the Forbidden Dale.

The death of her two newborns had devastated my little painted buckskin girl. It wasn't until the realization that life grew within her womb that she had ever dared to understand the love a mother could have for a child. To have them ripped away... And before she could even begin to dott upon them or shower them with motherly love and affection... It was almost to much for the young mare to take. She had fought Storm Cloud then, despised him when he tenderly ushered her away from the rotting corpses but none the less she had followed the dark charcoal stallion she had pledged herself too. He pried her away from the lifeless bodies with empty promises that they would in turn return to gather the remains after winter had passed. Already the cool autumn winds blew across the vast lands, carrying with it the dead brown leaves and whistling yellow grasses of a summer passed. A summer she would never forget. The summer she lost her first borns.

He guided her listless figure through the twisting winding pathways that lead far from the Meadows where she had birthed and into the lands of an unknown stallion. Her inner voice warned her to be cautious here for stallions tended to be protective of their lands and those that they had gathered as their own little harem. So far she was Storm Cloud's only prize, but she was not foolish enough to believe that it would remain that way for long. He had already conquested another mare, it seemed, in his desire to spread his genes and from what she had gathered it is why they have stopped here.

He leaves her now and proceeds across the border to learn of the child's birth and how the young made has faired through her labors. Inwardly my little painted girl cannot help but to feel a bit jealous but where the proverbial shoe on the other hoof no doubt she would do the same despite the pain of loss she felt now. Curiosity summoned her closer now and step by cautious step Lotus Flower ventures into the unknown stallion's lands following the scent trail left behind by Storm Cloud. It is from a wary distance that she sees for the first time mother and daughter and her heart aches with a renewed pain. Had her childen breathed breath, she too would be standing protectively above them, showering them with loving touches and displays of affection. Emerald green eyes glazed with renewed pain as she let's a mask of indifference fall silently over her beautifully dished features. This mare had no idea the treasure she held... A treasure that Lotus unknowingly longed for.
