Announcements as of July 28, 2021

I have called you, and you have answered my call --

Do not mistake my silence for weakness, my forest kin. For I am willing to defend you with my fangs and claws, until the days come when am no longer able to. Keep an eye on the borders for Zelda and her sister Midna, because I will welcome them back into the flock on the day of their return.

The flood has left our forest home in a sorry state of disarray. I shall not tolerate this. Summer is here and we must rebuild our dens in time for winter. There is a lot of hard and dirty work ahead of us. But we shall face it together, as family, as a pack. Let's get back to work and then we shall hunt. I hunger for a feast.

From your new Alpha --

Moonshade, the Gravekeeper of Moladion

Zelda

She was still young, still malleable and certainly still learning. However her naivety only came with her young age, she was still a bright girl, too bright her mother says sometimes when she notices strange things or asks questions that maybe a little one shouldn’t have the capacity to think of or ask. In time she would probably be a wise lady but for now she was simply inquisitive and able to apply the things she already knew to other things. It was no different today with this encounter with the silvery yearling boy. He didn’t’ seem to have noticed her, not that she was trying to be entirely sneaky it was just he seemed engrossed in thought. Her father did that a lot and perhaps it would be her own way someday when she had more to think about than eating, sleeping, learning and playing with her sisters.

As she clambered up the log and stood upon it of course she didn’t look quite princess like. Her family, minus perhaps her Father, didn’t use much for Royal terms. Princess was overlooked and acting like one owned the place wasn’t even common for her Grandfather. They ruled a bit differently, that much was for sure. Coza was a protector and a King not because he had a crown but because he protected the wolves within the same would go for the little auburn collared princess someday as well if she ever were to lead herself. For the time though leading wasn’t exactly on her mind. Zelda’s mind was focused on the gold and violet gaze of the boy in front of her, tail waving lightly even as he scowls at her. She tilts her head slightly at him as she said the tree tried to attack him. Still she was amazed though for fending off the tree then, she always thought trees were peaceful. The sound of the leaves in the wind, though sometimes she guessed they did make scary screeching sounds. Maybe that was when they were upset, like their own form of growl?

He seemed proud though that he defeated the tree, that she called him strong. It was the truth though! And this wasn’t exactly a small branch she had perched herself upon. ”Wow you must be really strong! Like my Grandfather or maybe Dad! They are strong too! But I never have seen them break a tree before!” She said excitedly giving a little bounce on her tan paws before sitting still a moment to catch his name and introduction. It was funny it was like she thought she recognized the name from somewhere, but the pack was certainly a place she had heard of before, perhaps it was just that. A big smile crossed her maw when he mentioned Shiloh, she knew Shiloh but she hadn’t met the other wolf that he mentioned. She didn’t abandon all manners though as she dipped her head in a overly deep bow before popping back up.

”My name is Zelda! Father says I am a princess of Plains and Forest but Mother doesn’t like him telling me that. I saw Shiloh, she is my Uncle Amoxtli’s mate. I know where they live though if you want to see them!” She said looking back into the pack lands knowing that they lived somewhere out there, though not exactly where their den was. It brought back an amusing conversation she had with her Uncle and one of those times that her mother thought she was perhaps too clever for her own good when she asked him why he and Shiloh didn’t have puppies too. It was a funny conversation, uncle Amoxtli was really silly. But as for Solaris she didn’t know him, but perhaps she heard of him in passing she was still young and Taviora was a large pack after all. ”I don’t know Solaris though, I’m sorry.” She adds giving another little apologetic dip of her head before bouncing back to her cheerful demeanor.

He said he didn’t think they should mention the broken tree to anyone and he rocked it lightly to which her body responded to in kind rolling back and fourths upon the top though it wasn’t enough to send her tumbling off of it. ”You don’t want anyone to know you are strong, Hyrule?” she asked curiously, tilting her head until something her mom said to her much larger sister Midna came to mind. ”But I guess some strength comes from modesty…so, okay!” Her sister Midna could be a brawler if she wanted, she easily was capable of beating both Zelda and Scarlett in a play fight if she wanted and she was proud of power too, but her mother said it wasn’t nice to boast, so maybe Hyrule was told this by his mother too! She had no idea she was an accomplice in hiding evidence from an apparent crime.

”Well you broke it so I think we can move it. “ She looked around trying to see where they could put it, ”What is your plan?

THE FOREST RANKS

THE GRAVEKEEPER

The Alpha Male of Taviora. He will accept all challenges and block any steals. He has taken an oath to protect all within the forest, alive and dead.

THE KEEPER OF SECRETS

This will be Moonshade's chosen co-alpha. They will also be able to accept challanges and steals in order to defend Taviora.

THE KEEPER OF TRUTHS

This rank will belong to the chosen heir of Taviora. This wolf will probably share Moonshade's blood. This rank can be challenged for if you believe that you are a better candidate for the job.

THE FOREST COUNCIL

Although the Alpha's have the final say in all matters, Taviora is still a pack, we are still a community. These wolves are the most senior members of our ranks. Their role is to guide, serve and protect. All of them have earned their place here and they should be respected at all times. Every position on the council can be challanged for by a subordinate pack member. However the council has the right to block a pack member from gaining the position if they have concluded that the individual has placed their own selfish desires before the best interest of the pack as a whole.

THE TUSKS

The packs lead fighter. One of the strongest and bravest in our ranks. They will answer the call to protect the forest if either of the Alpha's are absent.

THE JAWS

The packs head of defence. They are our chief hunter and guardian to all within the forest borders. They know every inch of Taviora and every wolf within.

THE HORNS

The packs most senior teacher. They are responsible for teaching and guiding all of our young and new members so that they will reach their full potential.

THE EYES

The packs trusted informant. This wolf spends a lot of their time outside the forest borders, keeping their eyes, ears and nose peeled for news or potential trouble. Due to the secretive and dangerous nature of this rank, only a wolf that the pack can trust with their lives will obtain this responsibility.

THE DARKDWELLER

This is Taviora’s Head Healer. This wolf is responsible for treating the pack's wounds, injuries and illnesses. They are also expected to be one of the first on scene when a mother goes into labour. Along with their counterpart, The Soothsayer, they will train future healers for the service of our pack and our allies.

THE SOOTHSAYER

This is Taviora’s Head Counselor. Their knowledge of healing and herbal remedies are equal to that of their counterpart, The Darkdweller. This wolf specializes in helping us conquer the unseen demons in our heads and our hearts. They are also expected to help bring all children of the forest safely into this world.

NIGHTWATCHERS

Our trusted packmates that guard the borders while the rest of us sleep safely in our dens. If something is amiss within our lands, they should be the first to intercept any threat and call for back up when needed. Some might not call themselves soldiers, but they will spill blood if push comes to shove.

DAWNSTRIDERS

The most diligent and selfless of our pack. They are up at first light and leave our inner sanctum every few days in search of prey. They hunt far and wide in order to make sure none of us go hungry. While not out hunting, they are free to relax or assist the Nightwatchers, Daylightres or Dawnstriders with their tasks.

DAYLIGHTERS

This group will make up the bulk of our pack, they are our beloved family. They are generalists and commoners who are charged with looking after the most central and sacred parts of our home. Along with The Horns, they are expected to watch out for our children. We are happy to keep all within our ranks that love and respect the forest of Taviora.

DUSKWALKERS

Rumoured to be the most free spirited and independent members of our pack, they guard when no other eyes are available. They wander down all the winding dirt paths and have been known to explore into the freelands. They are envoys and ambassadors who assist The Eyes with their duty of keeping us all safe.

ANCIENT PINES

These wolves are older and have retired from active service. We thank them for all that they have done for our pack, however long or short their tenor was. They shall live out the rest of their years with the best food, shelter and company we can offer them.

THE BRIAR PATCH

This is the name for Taviora’s nursing mothers and their litters of puppies. Once they are born, at least one parent is expected to temporarily step down from their role in order to raise their pups for the first 6 months of their lives. An exemption can be made if another mother is willing to look after the young while the parents resume their service to the pack.

THE SAPLINGS

Too big for the briar patch but not yet old enough to be called a daylighter. These are all puppies between the age of 1 and 3. Pups can start their training from 2 and above if The Horns has found a suitable Mentor for them.

THE WELCOMED

These wolves are welcome within our borders anytime of the day or night. Blocking their access will be met with disapproval and possible punishment.

THE BANISHED

They are enemies of our pack and their presence will not be tolerated within or near our home. Those caught in contact with a wolf on this list will likely share the same fate.

THE SACRED TOMBS

Our brothers and sisters that have sadly left us for their next adventures. We give thanks for their lives and we send them on with all our love, hopes and dreams. Moonshade will accept the bones of any wolf that has ever called Taviora their home and will find them a special place within our hallowed grounds. Every burial mound is individual and sacred. Tampering or messing with one will not be tolerated. A crime against the dead will be treated as though it has been committed against a living pack member.

Remember, we are always watching from the shadows ...
