The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

There is a kindness to Solitaire that seems sorely lacking in the world. She assumes it is that kind nature that makes her relax in his presence rather than grow too coy or snap off at him. Despite being small and knowing her limitations physically Malleah did have somewhat of a temper when things did not go her way. She also knew when to unleash it because, lets be real, if she pissed off a 140 pound wolf there was no chance in hell she was coming out of that unscathed. Picking and choosing your fights, now that was a skill in and of itself. Solitaire doesn't do anything to deserve her temper. He helps her in his own way because if he hadn't been here she might not have thought anything of her mildly irritating wound until it festered and killed her, more worried about keeping her slim belly lined with food and keeping her neck out of the jaws of death.

Where he craves acceptance in a pack she does not quite hold the same ideals. Sure Iromar was her place of birth but it is a grimy place with too much mud, far too many mosquitoes for her liking, and a pungent smell that only winter dampened. The only good thing about it was that in winter it kept a warmer temperature than most of the other places but that one redeeming quality did not sell her on it. If Malum liked it there then good for him but she would keep searching until she found the right time and place for things to simply click into place. First she would have to get over her selfish needs which did not seem likely all to soon.

She grins at his chuckle, pleased with herself at having brought some entertainment to their conversation. She leans closer to catch his next words with a somber nod of understanding, tucking that bit of information away for later use. Being a loner meant she needed to know such things, she thinks, even if she had neglected the learning of them for far too long. For now she was on her own, no male to watch over her, so she needed to know the basics. For now.

Yet Malleah cannot help the sudden roguish need to play with him for his words leave a very easy opening and so she grins in a saucy manner, eyes narrowing. It wasn't like she knew they were distantly related. "Inviting me home already? My, I wouldn't have taken you for such a fellow!" A chuckle drops from her lilting lips, one of pure amusement. "Perhaps I will drop by soon to take you up on that offer. For now, it is simply too cold for me to be traveling. I might very well freeze to death. Besides, this place looks like it has been all but deserted. Should make for a fine winter home."
