Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

I note the stiff form to the side of me, the one known to me as Iscariot. He is ready to spring forward as well. We are both just waiting on the word. I can sense a little frustration from him, a flicker in his eyes, but he holds his tongue, apparently taking to mind that Jinan is younger and prone to mistakes. Better to make them here than out on a big pack hunt with desperate mouths to feed. This is more for training than anything but wouldn't it be great to bag a good sized doe for the pack anyway? I turn my gaze to the female on my other side, Astrid. She is ready to spring as well and I note something more like anger rising in her eyes when Jinan hesitates. Her lips twitch but she looks to him, giving him a swift nod of his head, probably just what he needed for reassurance. When they finally spring forward, I'm right on their heels, leeting them do the ambushing since I'm built more thick of frame for helping take the beast down anyway. Jinan manages to spook the intended doe, sending her into a panic as she turns away but Astrid is right there to dart between her tangled legs.

The doe suddenly rears up on her slender back legs and Astrid dives in to grab one, her teeth connecting but she doesn't hold on long. I see one of the doe's front hooves slice into her shoulder and I wince inwardly but keep my own path clear as I race into the fray to lend my support. Astrid managed to cripple the doe's front leg with her assault and then Jinan is grabbing another leg, a back one this time. Even before he releases, I launch off my back legs like a spring, aiming to land on the doe's back and grab at the back of her neck. With my weight and momentum pushing on her injured front leg and someone else pulling on her back leg, it should be more than enough to throw the dainty thing off balance and send her crashing down. I bite down and latch on, only ready to release and jump if the doe looks like she's going to roll over on top of me. Even as a small doe, she could still do some damage.
